BACKGROUND: The psychosocial impact of stroke and aphasia is considerable.
AIMS: To explore UK speech-and-language therapists' (SLTs) clinical practice in addressing the psychological and social needs of people with aphasia, including their experiences of working with mental health professionals.
METHODS & PROCEDURES: A 22-item online survey was distributed to UK SLTs via the British Aphasiology Society mailing list and Clinical Excellence Networks. Results were analysed using descriptive statistics and qualitative content analysis.

BACKGROUND: Recently, the use of electronic cigarettes increased sharply, leading to increased e-cigarette, or Vaping Product Use-Associated Lung Injury (EVALI), and other acute pulmonary conditions. BACKGROUND: Chlamydia, caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, is the most common reportable infection in many developed countries. Testing, treatment, and partner notification (PN) are key strategies for chlamydia control. In 2008 the Let Them Know (LTK) PN website was established, which provided means for people to send anonymous PN messages by text messaging (short message service, SMS), email, or letter.
OBJECTIVE: We evaluated PN practices among Australian family planning clinicians following chlamydia diagnosis and assessed how often clinicians refer their patients to the LTK website.

BACKGROUND: People with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) frequently experience increases in symptoms (flares) related to pain, stiffness and fatigue. Despite frequent use of the term 'flare' within axSpA, it is poorly defined and characterised. No widely accepted patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) exists that can identify axSpA flares or quantify their severity. However, the Evaluation of Ankylosing Spondylitis Quality of Life (EASiQoL) is a patient-derived axSpA-specific PROM with strong evidence of its ability to assess quality of life, an aspect affected by changes in symptoms.

BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic led to the rapid implementation of remote work, but few studies have examined the impact. We evaluated clinical staff experience with working remotely at a large, urban comprehensive cancer center in Toronto, Canada.
METHODS: An electronic survey was disseminated between June 2021, and August 2021, via e-mail to staff who had completed at least some remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Factors associated with a negative experience were examined with binary logistic regression. Barriers were derived from a thematic analysis of open-text fields.
