OBJECTIVES: The relationship between sexual practices, identity and role among Latino men who have sex with men (MSM) and HIV risk is the subject of ongoing investigation but less is known about how these aspects of sexuality relate to human papilloma-virus (HPV), an independent risk factor for HIV. This observational study investigated the relationship between HPV and sexual practices, identity and role as well as other sexually transmitted infection (STI)/HIV risk factors among HIV-negative heterosexually and homosexually identified Peruvian MSM.

In 13 male patients with a diagnosis of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, associated in five cases with verified hyposmia (Kallmann's syndrome), social development and participation were delayed. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: In Sweden, human immunodeficiency virus has been almost exclusively spread in three subpopulations. These are homosexual men (47%), intravenous drug abusers (21%), and immigrants from highly endemic areas (22%). In contrast to human immunodeficiency virus, gonorrhea and syphilis have in the past affected the general population in Sweden. This retrospective study details the findings and outcome in 34 homosexual men, out of a total of 177 patients, who underwent surgery for non-condylomatous perianal disease over a 2-year period. Three homosexual male patients with biopsy-proved Kaposi's sarcoma were classified as having the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) by Centers for Disease Control criteria when first seen in 1983 and 1984.
