Human recombinant interleukin 2 (IL 2) and highly purified murine interleukin 3 (IL 3) were tested for their ability to generate NK activity in bone marrow cells from mice with severe combined immunodeficiency. IL 2 alone could dose dependently induce NK activity in marrow cells as determined by cytotoxicity against YAC-1 target cells. It was demonstrated that IL 3 had dual effects on the generation of NK activity in this culture system. BACKGROUND: The pathogenesis of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is not completely understood.
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the presence of VEGF, IL-6 and IL-2, in serum and follicular fluid, in patients developing severe OHSS.
STUDY DESIGN: We enrolled 101 women undergoing in vitro fertilization. Eight patients developing severe OHSS were compared with 43 high risk patients and 50 controls. We analyzed VEGF and IL-6 in serum collected before hCG administration, and in both serum and follicular fluid on the day of oocyte retrieval.

OBJECTIVE: Soluble interleukin-2 receptor (sIL-2R) is a biomarker for T cell activity. T cells are involved in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) pathogenesis. However, sIL-2R has so far not been evaluated in these conditions. Here, we compared sIL-2R levels in serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with aquaporin-4-IgG-seropositive and seronegative (AQP4-IgG+/-) NMOSD, MOGAD, and noninflammatory neurologic disorders (NINDs), and assessed the prognostic value of sIL-2R for future attacks.

We present a case of a 48-year-old female who developed myocarditis and near fatal arrhythmias during high dose Il-2 therapy for metastatic renal cancer.
