Impact of web-based breastfeeding education on breastfeeding self-efficacy and exclusive breastfeeding rates among primiparous mothers in iran: a quasi-experimental study.

INTRODUCTION: Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the most effective ways to meet the nutritional needs of infants in early life. Web-based breastfeeding education platforms offer a modern solution to support primiparous mothers by providing structured, interactive content such as videos, podcasts, and learning assessments. In this study, an educational website was developed to deliver weekly sessions, track progress through quizzes, and send reminders to encourage participation. This study aimed to examine the effect of such a web-based program on the exclusive breastfeeding self-efficacy of pr

The Relationship Between the Therapeutic Alliance and Social Anxiety Symptoms Along the Course of Internet-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Treatment.

The therapeutic alliance is a consistent predictor of treatment outcome. In the present study, we examined whether the therapeutic alliance is associated with symptoms of social anxiety along the course of internet-delivered cognitive behavior therapy (ICBT) for social anxiety disorder (SAD). We examined data from a large treatment trial (n = 182) in which individuals with SAD reported on their social anxiety and alliance with the therapist each week during the treatment (for 11 weeks). We examined the total variance in alliance as well as within- and between-individual variances separately. C

Working alliance and empowerment in internet-based groups versus individual treatment: a secondary analysis.

Internet-based interventions show promise for meeting the increasing demand for psychological support, yet the mechanisms driving their effectiveness remain unclear. This study examines the roles of empowerment and working alliance in reducing social anxiety disorder (SAD) and improving adherence in a clinician-guided group (GT) compared to a clinician-guided individual treatment (IT). A total of 120 individuals meeting the SAD diagnostic criteria were randomized into one of the two active conditions. Both empowerment and working alliance were repeatedly assessed, and their effects on social a

Explaining the effects of treatment components in internet-based cognitive-behavioral treatment for social anxiety disorder: A factorial mediation analysis.

BACKGROUND: More understanding of how internet-based cognitive-behavioral programs (ICBT) for social anxiety disorder (SAD) work could help further optimize treatment. This paper examines the mediational role of knowledge of SAD, negative social cognitions, self-focused attention, avoidance of social situations, and use of safety behaviors in explaining the main components of ICBT for SAD (psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, attention training, and exposure). METHODS: In a 24 factorial trial, 464 participants diagnosed with SAD were randomized to 16 combinations of components of a minim

An interactive digital behaviour change intervention to decrease incidence of sexually transmitted infections among users of STI self-sampling websites: a feasibility RCT.

BACKGROUND: Sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia are common among young people. If left untreated, they can have serious health consequences. Condoms are recommended for prevention, but young people report often not using them for penetrative sex. Use of web-based sexually transmitted infection testing is increasing rapidly, but these services provide little support or advice on how to prevent future infections. 'Wrapped' is a web-based intervention that aims to support young users of web-based sexually transmitted infection testing to use condoms correctly every time they have pe

The Efficacy of Web-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy With a Shame-Specific Intervention for Social Anxiety Disorder: Randomized Controlled Trial.

BACKGROUND: Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is one of the most prevalent psychological disorders and generally co-occurs with elevated shame levels. Previous shame-specific interventions could significantly improve outcomes in social anxiety treatments. Recent review suggests that integrating a more direct shame intervention could potentially increase the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy. Web-based cognitive behavioral therapy (WCBT) has proven efficacy, sustaining benefits for 6 months to 4 years. Previous evidence indicated that shame predicted the reduction of social anxiety and

The effect of the web-based Barkley behavioral training model on the caregiving burden and resilience of mothers of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder: a randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: Mothers of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often face considerable challenges in communicating with their children, which increases their caregiving burden. Resilience, as an important psychological resource, can help mitigate the negative effects of these challenges. Barkley's behavioral parent training, especially when delivered web-based with easy access and flexible scheduling, may provide valuable support for these mothers. This study examined the impact of a web-based behavioral training program based on Barkley's model on caregiving burden and r

Effectiveness of a Brief Internet-Based Workplace Training Program to Support Help Seeking for Mental Ill-Health: Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial.

BACKGROUND: Depression and anxiety are prevalent in working-aged adults. Although treatment provided by health professionals can improve symptoms and functioning, many people experiencing mental ill-health do not seek help. There have been very few effective interventions to improve help seeking in adults, with none implemented across diverse workplaces through online delivery. OBJECTIVE: The primary aim of this trial was to test the effectiveness of a co-designed program for increasing professional help seeking intentions in Australian employees, relative to an active control condition. Exploring the influence of loneliness and social isolation in transdiagnostic internet-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy for depression and anxiety.

OBJECTIVE: Past research shows that social factors play an important role in mental health outcomes, but there is limited research on how these factors influence Internet-delivered cognitive behavior therapy (ICBT). This study investigated the prevalence of subjective (i.e., feelings of loneliness) and objective social isolation among patients receiving transdiagnostic ICBT. We explored whether social factors change over treatment and moderate treatment effectiveness and engagement. METHOD: This study used data collected in a routine ICBT clinic. Among clients with elevated depression and/or

Do the effects of internet-delivered cognitive-behavioral therapy (i-CBT) last after a year and beyond? A meta-analysis of 154 randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Although the short-term efficacy of internet-delivered cognitive-behavioral therapy (i-CBT) is well-established, its long-term efficacy remains understudied. Robust variance estimation meta-analysis was thus conducted across guided and self-guided i-CBT, synthesizing data from 154 randomized controlled trials (N = 45,335) with ≥ 12-month follow-ups. For binary outcomes, guided (52.3% vs. 38.6%; log-risk ratio [LOG-RR] = 1.15 95% confidence interval [1.04, 1.26]) yielded higher remission, reliable improvement, and response rates, and lower suboptimal treatment outcome rates (9.3% vs. 10.8%; LOG

Mediation of social anxiety and depression during internet-delivered treatment for social anxiety disorder.

Many individuals with social anxiety disorder (SAD) have depressive symptoms that meet criteria for major depressive disorder (MDD). In our study, we examined the temporal relationship between symptoms of social anxiety and symptoms of depression during the course of an 11-week internet-delivered cognitive behavioral treatment (ICBT) for SAD (n = 170). Specifically, we investigated whether weekly changes in social anxiety mediated changes in depression, changes in depression mediated changes in anxiety, both or neither. In addition, we compared individuals with SAD and MDD (n = 50) and individ

Internet addiction: a review of current assessment techniques and potential assessment questions.

The concept of Internet addiction has been proposed as an explanation for uncontrollable and damaging use of the Internet. Symptoms of excessive Internet use have been compared to the criteria used to diagnose other addictions such as pathological gambling. Although criteria to diagnose this problem have been proposed, methods of assessing excessive Internet use are limited. A structured interview based on the criteria proposed by Beard and Wolf is proposed to aid in the assessment of "Internet addiction." This, in turn, could aid in the diagnosis and intervention of a client who enters treatm

Influence of an internet-based proactive follow-up management model on the prognosis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

BACKGROUND: Most patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) exhibit mild symptoms; however, without timely intervention, the condition may progress to cirrhosis or even liver cancer. The development of internet-based proactive follow-up management models has provided new avenues for medical services, allowing patients to access online consultations and enabling doctors to efficiently manage patient information. These models have particular significance for NAFLD patients, as they can enhance compliance and facilitate timely intervention. AIM: To explore the effect of an internet-
