Here we show that the fluorescence of fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) is not altered by its reaction with primary amines. Poly(2-hydroxypropylene imine)s containing segments of cystamine (PHPI-CA) are synthesized by polycondensation of 1,3-dibromo-2-propanol with a mixture of 1,3-diamino-2-propanol and cystamine. In this study, the toxic effect of sanguinarine (SANG) on heart was studied with isolated cardiac muscle strip isolated from Wistar rat. SANG induced positive inotropic action followed by contracture on the left ventricle and both atria strips. In addition, SANG dose-dependently inhibited spontaneous beat of the right atrium. This study was undertaken to search for the endogenous dithiol cofactor of the reductases of the vitamin K cycle. As a starting point, the redox-active lipophilic endogenous compounds lipoic acid and lipoamide were looked at. The study shows that microsomes contain NADH-dependent lipoamide reductase activity. A slow migrating minor albumin component, representing 5% of total circulating albumin, was detected by routine serum protein electrophoresis and immunofixation. Hepatocytes isolated from Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed to carbon tetrachloride together with various concentrations of trichloroethylene over a 40-fold range. The emissions and the potential health effects of particulate matter (PM) were assessed from two heavy-duty trucks with and without emission control aftertreatment systems when operating on CARB ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and three different biodiesel blends. A gelatinolytic metalloproteinase (gMP) from red sea bream ( Pagrus major ) skeletal muscle was highly purified by ammonium sulfate fractionation and column chromatographies including (diethylamino)ethyl (DEAE)-Sephacel, phenyl-Sepharose, and gelatin-Sepharose. A glutathione peroxidase was purified from bovine ciliary body by ammonium sulfate fractionation.
