BACKGROUND: Urinary tract infection (UTI) remains one of the main complications after kidney transplantation and it has serious consequences.
METHODS: Fifty-two patients with kidney transplantation were evaluated for UTI at 3-145 days (mean 40.0 days) after surgery.. Humans frequently contract urinary tract infections (UTIs), which can be brought on by uropathogens (UPs) that are multi-drug resistant. Thrombotic obstruction is rare in bacterial endocarditis involving prosthetic heart valves. A 45-year-old man who had three intracardiac, ball-cage-type prosthetic valves, presented with streptococcal septicemia. Major obstruction of the tricuspid Smeloff-Cutter valve and normal function of the two other prostheses were documented by Doppler echocardiography. Emergency replacement of the tricuspid valve alone was decided on the one basis of this echocardiographic diagnosis, and successfully performed. Operative findings confirmed the noninvasive findings.

We report two adult cases of sudden cardiorespiratory arrest because an acute epiglottitis that ocurred in our hospital. Although it is an uncommon pathology nowdays with good prognosis generally, we try to call the attention about this complication which can happen of unforseeable way even in previous absence of respiratory obstruction.
