Atlas of patient-reported outcome measures, nomograms and scoring systems used in simple and complicated urinary tract infections: a systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are common and result in a significant impact on quality of life (QoL). Despite their prevalence, there seems to be a lack of evidence around patient-reported outcomes and measuring tools such as scoring systems and nomograms in UTIs. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) help us measure patient-related symptoms and their QoL. OBJECTIVE: Our literature review shows an up-to-date "atlas" of the available PROMs, nomograms and scoring systems that can help clinicians in treatment decisions and track treatment response in patients with UTIs. DESIGN

Survival Predictive Nomograms for Non-Surgical Brain Metastases Patients From Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Receiving Radiotherapy: A Population-Based Study.

OBJECTIVE: A high number of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastasis who have not had surgery often have a negative outlook. Radiotherapy remains a most common and effective method. Nomograms were developed to forecast the cancer-specific survival (CSS) and overall survival (OS) in NSCLC individuals with nonoperative brain metastases who underwent radiotherapy. METHODS: Information was gathered from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database about patients diagnosed with NSCLC who had brain metastases not suitable for surgery. Nomograms were creat

Development and validation of nomograms to predict survival of primary cervical lymphoma: A surveillance, epidemiology, and end results (SEER) database analysis.

Due to the rarity of primary cervical lymphoma (PCL), the long-term survival of patients with cervical lymphoma and factors influencing survival are unknown. This study aimed to compare the survivals of patients with PCL and those with other cervical tumors and construct a clinical prediction model to assess the prognosis of patients with PCL. Patients with PCL from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database were allocated randomly in a 7:3 ratio to the training and validation sets. Cox proportional hazard and Fine-Gray models were used to verify independent factors influencing o

Predictive Value of Age- and Sex-Specific Nomograms of Global Plaque Burden on Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography for Major Cardiac Events.

BACKGROUND: Age-adjusted coronary artery disease (CAD) burden identified on coronary computed tomography angiography predicts major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE) risk; however, it seldom contributes to clinical decision making because of a lack of nomographic data. We aimed to develop clinically pragmatic age- and sex-specific nomograms of CAD burden using coronary computed tomography angiography and to validate their prognostic use. METHODS AND RESULTS: Patients prospectively enrolled in phase I of the CONFIRM registry (Coronary CT Angiography Evaluation for Clinical Outcomes) were inc

Nomograms of total renal volume, urinary bladder volume and bladder wall thickness index in 3,376 children with a normal urinary tract.

BACKGROUND: We have previously shown that urinary bladder volume index (BVI = length x width x depth of bladder) and bladder volume wall thickness index (BVWI = BVI at full bladder/average bladder wall thickness) are useful indicators of bladder dysfunction in children with enuresis and urinary tract infection. These indices show a good correlation with urodynamic studies. We have expanded the study to include normal paediatric subjects with a wide age range. We illustrate a simple sonography protocol with nomograms of different parameters, which provide useful references for functional assess

Development and validation of a nomogram for predicting advanced chronic kidney disease.

The objective of this study was to develop and validate a nomogram for predicting advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) through the utilization of routine clinical parameters. To achieve this, we integrated internal and external datasets, employed LASSO and logistic regression to identify independent predictors of advanced CKD for nomogram construction, conducted Bootstrap validation on the training set, and evaluated discrimination, calibration, and net clinical benefit utilizing both internal and external test sets. The results identified six predictors: serum creatinine, age, hematocrit, hy
