OBJECTIVE: Mutations in the gene coding for the orphan nuclear receptor DAX1 cause X-linked adrenal hypoplasia congenita (AHC). Affected boys usually present with primary adrenal failure in early infancy or childhood. Impaired sexual development due to hypogonadotropic hypogonadism becomes manifest at the time of puberty. Moreover, evidence from Dax1 knockout mice and a limited number of patients with AHC, suggests that mutations in DAX1 may directly cause abnormalities in spermatogenesis. The clinical and pathologic features of 70 juvenile granulosa cell tumors (JGCTs) of the testis are presented. The patients were from 30 weeks gestational age to 10 years old; 60 of 67 (90%) whose ages are known to us were 6 months old or younger. Sixty-two underwent gonadectomy, 6 wedge excision, and 2 only biopsy. Twenty-six tumors were left sided and 22 right sided. Six occurred in an undescended testis and 2 in dysgenetic gonads. OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate evidence on prognostic factors for tumor recurrence in clinical stage I nonseminoma patients other than lymphovascular invasion (LVI).
METHODS: We performed a systematic literature search in the biomedical databases Medline (via Ovid) and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (search period January 2010 to February 2021) for full text publications in English and German language, reporting on retro- or prospectively assessed prognostic factors for tumor recurrence in patients with stage I nonseminomatous germ cell tumors.

After spermiation, various epithelial secretory proteins are transferred via extracellular vesicles (EVs) to the spermatozoa for their maturation and long-term viability. Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) typically occurs in the abdomen but may also present at other sites. We report six cases of paratesticular DSRCT. OBJECTIVES: To review treatment outcome and patterns of failure for patients with stage II testicular seminoma and to identify prognostic factors for relapse.

Detection of chemically induced effects on male fertility and on testicular spermatogenesis in particular, has become of increasing concern. More stringent regulatory guidelines, introduced by ICH, EPA and OECD (Table 1) have raised the awareness of toxicologists and pathologists for the need to conduct sensitive and careful evaluation of the male reproductive tract for potential toxic effects of administered compounds. With it has come confusion and in many cases, inappropriate procedures, often based on misunderstanding of what is required and on inadequate understanding of spermatogenesis.
