BACKGROUND: Talaromycosis is a rare fungal infection characterized by non-specific clinical features, often resulting in misdiagnosis. This study aimed to analyze four classic cases of Talaromyces marneffei infection diagnosed using metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) to improve understanding of its diagnosis and treatment.
METHODS: This study retrospectively analyzed cases of T. marneffei identified through mNGS at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Four confirmed cases of talaromycosis were selected based on clinical diagnoses, supplemented by a review of relevant literature.

Plastic film (PF) mulching is an important method for winter wheat cultivation. In this study, the effects of PF mulching on wheat yield were analysed. Compared with non-mulched control, grain yield increased by 70% in PF treatment. Soil available phosphorus (AP) and electrical conductivity (EC) increased by 104.70% and 5.55%, respectively. BACKGROUND: Root-knot nematodes (RKNs), including Meloidogyne species, are among the most destructive plant-parasites worldwide. Recent evidence suggests that entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) can antagonize RKNs. Talaromycosis marneffei (T.M) is the primary opportunistic infection of AIDS patients, and its morbidity and mortality are extremely high.
