To control the rise in Neisseria meningitidis strain W infections, during 2018-2019, the Netherlands launched a catch-up meningococcal conjugate (MenACWY) vaccination campaign for teenagers (13-18 years of age). To assess the incidence of and risk factors for clinical and subclinical dengue virus (DENV) infection, we prospectively studied 1,207 adult short-term travelers from the Netherlands to dengue-endemic areas. Participants donated blood samples for serologic testing before and after travel. Blood samples were tested for antibodies against DENV. Seroconversion occurred in 14 (1.2%) travelers at risk. OBJECTIVE: To survey drug use by breastfeeding women, and to compare this with nonbreastfeeding women. In addition, we were interested whether drug use was of influence on the decision to give breastfeeding, and the other way around.
DESIGN AND SETTING: During a 6-week period in 2002, a questionnaire was handed out to all women with a child not older than 6 months, who visited a Well-Baby Clinic in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands, eventually resulting in 549 returned questionnaires (response 43%).

Information on the characteristics of children with limb deficiencies and amputations in The Netherlands is largely lacking. Sporadic cases of trombiculiasis have been reported as causing neurologic signs in dogs. We report a cluster of trombiculiasis cases (outbreak) in the province of Noord-Holland, the Netherlands, associated with Neotrombicula autumnalis mite infestation. Veterinarians should consider N. autumnalis infestation in differential diagnoses for acute onset neurologic signs in dogs.
