Development and validation of a nomogram predicting osteoporosis risk in rheumatoid arthritis.

BACKGROUND: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) increases the risk of osteoporosis, but tools that integrate RA-specific clinical and metabolic factors to predict osteoporosis risk are limited. We aimed to develop and validate a practical risk prediction nomogram for osteoporosis in RA patients. METHODS: In this single-center retrospective study, 349 RA patients with available DXA data were analyzed; 132 (37.8%) had osteoporosis. A training cohort (n = 250; osteoporosis = 92) and a temporal validation cohort (n = 99; osteoporosis = 40, enrolled later in the study period) were used. Candidate predictors

Developing a nomogram for postoperative delirium in elderly patients with hip fractures.

BACKGROUND: Postoperative delirium (POD) is a prevalent complication, particularly in elderly patients with hip fractures (HFs). It significantly affects recovery, length of hospital stay, healthcare costs, and long-term outcomes. Existing studies have investigated risk factors for POD, but most are limited by single-factor analyses or small sample sizes. This study systematically determines independent risk factors using large-scale data and machine learning techniques and develops a validated nomogram model to support early prediction and management of POD. AIM: To investigate POD incidence

Establishment and validation of a novel prognostic nomogram for gallbladder cancer patients.

BACKGROUND: Gallbladder cancer (GBC) arises from the malignant transformation of epithelial cells that line the gallbladder mucosa. The likelihood of developing GBC escalates with advancing age, and the condition generally presents a dismal prognosis. Despite this, there is a limited amount of research focusing on the prognostic determinants linked to GBC. As a result, this study sought to create a nomogram for evaluating GBC prognostic factors. METHODS: In this investigation, a total of 8,615 cases of GBC from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database spanning from 2000

Development and validation of a nomogram for predicting cough variant asthma diagnosis.

BACKGROUND: Cough variant asthma (CVA) is a specific type of asthma characterized by chronic cough as the sole or predominant symptom. Accurate diagnosis is crucial for effective treatment, yet bronchial provocation test is not always feasible in clinical settings. To identify independent predictors of CVA diagnosis, we developed a nomogram for predicting CVA. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were employed to construct the model, and the accuracy and consistency of the prediction model were subsequently validated. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective review of clinica
