Incidental Detection of Prostatic Lesion on 18 F-FDG PET/CT and 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT Leading to Diagnosis of Second Primary Prostatic Adenocarcinoma in a Patient of Differentiated Thyroid Cancer.

Second primary malignancies are being increasingly detected in the setting of thyroid cancer, because of adoption of the advanced imaging modalities including PET/CT. Herein, we present a patient of papillary thyroid carcinoma who initially underwent total thyroidectomy with bilateral neck dissection followed by 131 I radioactive iodine therapy. A prostatic lesion was incidentally detected on 18 F-FDG PET/CT scan, which was intensely 18 F-FDG avid and also showed intense focal 68 Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) uptake on 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT scan. This led to the diagnosis of pros

Examining the Relationship and Prognostic Significance of Cell-Free DNA Levels and the PSMA-Positive Tumor Volume in Men with Prostate Cancer: A Retrospective-Prospective [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT Study.

Functional imaging with prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) ligands has emerged as the standard imaging method for prostate cancer (PCA). In parallel, the analysis of blood-derived, cell-free DNA (cfDNA) has been shown to be a promising quantitative biomarker of PCA aggressiveness and patient outcome. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship and prognostic value of cfDNA concentrations and the PSMA-positive tumor volume (PSMA-TV) in men with PCA undergoing [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT imaging. Methods: We recruited 148 men with histologically proven PCA (mean age, 70.7 ± 7.7 y) who under

Cutaneous, Subcutaneous, and Bilateral Adrenal Gland Metastases in Progressive Prostate Carcinoma: Theranostic Potential of 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT Imaging and 177 Lu-PSMA-617 Therapy.

Prostate carcinoma (PC) is the second most common malignant tumor in males globally. The metastatic spread of PC usually involves the pelvic and abdominal lymph nodes and the skeletal system. Cutaneous metastases are exceedingly uncommon and typically manifest themselves late in the disease course, considered as ominous sign with limited treatment options and a poor prognosis. We describe a patient wherein 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT detected multiple uncommon metastatic sites in the cutaneous region of the scrotum, penis, and thigh, as well as in the subcutaneous region of anterior abdominal wall, a

Predictive factors of tumor sink effect: Insights from 177Lu-Prostate-specific membrane antigen therapy.

OBJECTIVE: Tumor sink effect (TSE) has been defined as; decreased uptake in healthy tissue with increased tumor sequestration of the radiopharmaceuticals. It enables us to give high tumoral radiation doses while resulting in lower absorbed radiation to critical organs. However, the factors which influence this effect are yet to be defined. In this study, we have investigated the predictive factors of the tumor sink effect in a group of patients who received 177Lu-Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) therapy due to progressive metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT Uptake in the Ureter Caused by Ligand Expression in Urothelial Cancer.

Ga-PSMA PET/CT has become a well-established imaging modality to detect prostate cancer (PCa) metastases in biochemical recurrence. Despite its claimed specificity for PCa, Ga-PSMA uptake in tissues unrelated to PCa, particularly in the neovascular tissue of other cancers, has been reported in numerous studies. A 73-year-old man underwent Ga-PSMA PET/CT for biochemical recurrence of PCa 7 years after radical prostatectomy. The Ga-PSMA PET/CT showed 1 lesion with PSMA uptake in the distal left ureter. Histology revealed a low-grade noninvasive papillary urothelial carcinoma. By immunohistochemi

Comparison of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT with 11C-acetate PET/CT in re-staging of prostate cancer relapse.

Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging is used to localize recurrent disease in prostate cancer (PCa). The tracer 68Ga-PSMA-11 visualizes lesions overexpressing prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), while 11C-acetate visualizes lesions with increased anabolic metabolism. The aim of this study was to compare the performance of PSMA-PET and acetate-PET in re-staging patients with biochemical relapse. Thirty PCa patients with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) relapse after primary curative therapy were prospectively evaluated. PET/CT examinations using 11C-acetate and 68Ga-PSMA-11 were per

PSMA Expression Heterogeneity in Metastatic Prostate Carcinoma: A Case of Discordant Liver Metastases on 68 Ga PSMA PET/CT Showing Uptake on Post-Lu-177 PSMA Therapy Scan.

We report a case of metastatic castration-resistant prostate carcinoma with discordant PSMA (prostate specific membrane antigen) expression- 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) showed PSMA-avid skeletal metastases but nonavid liver lesions. The patient received 177 Lu-PSMA-617 on compassionate grounds. Post-therapy imaging revealed radiotracer uptake in both skeletal and previously nonavid hepatic metastases, suggesting possible increased lesion amenability. This case highlights the dynamic nature of PSMA expression and the potential role of post-therapy scans

[Scintigraphic imaging of stage III non-small-cell bronchial cancer].

Scintigraphic imagery is a functional image based on the difference of the in vivo concentration of injected radio-active traces as a function-of the metabolic characteristics of the tissues. A positive emission tomography (TEP) relies on an injection of substances which reflect the metabolic activity of the tissues and consist of protein renewal with 11C-methionine or glucose metabolism with F18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FTG). The imagery by TEP enables 85-90% of solitary pulmonary nodules to be detected. The degree of capture of the tracer enables some differentiation of a malignant lesion from a

Radiolabelling and positron emission tomography imaging of a high-affinity peptide binder to collagen type 1.

INTRODUCTION: Pathological formation of fibrosis, is an important feature in many diseases. Fibrosis in liver and pancreas has been associated to metabolic disease including type 1 and 2 diabetes. The current methods for detecting and diagnosing fibrosis are either invasive, or their sensitivity to detect fibrosis in early stage is limited. Therefore, it is crucial to develop non-invasive methods to detect, stage and study the molecular processes that drive the pathology of liver fibrosis. The peptide LRELHLNNN was previously identified as a selective binder to collagen type I with an affinity
