In Chorzów inhabitants exposed to polluted environment, a decrease in erythrocyte and urine magnesium concentration was found in approx. 40% of workers irrespectively of type of employment. The higher percent of humans with the normal magnesium concentration in erythrocytes and urine was found in Chorzów than on the area near Skawina aluminium plant. This explained a less expressed negative effects of fluorides and lead ions in Chorzów inhabitants on energy, metabolism and health symptoms.

Serious problems emerge when evaluating evidence on lead neurotoxicity in children. The extent of these problems and ways to control them were explored in a study of 1291 children from the first class in the schools of Aarhus municipality, Denmark. This paper discusses the relationship between standards for limiting radiation exposures of individuals in the general public and limitation of lifetime risk. An attempt is made to assign TLV's to noise in a manner similar to that used by the ACGIH for chemical substances. Based on these criteria and available data, it would appear that the TLV-TWA for noise should be less than 65 dBA. Nine patients with disabling pneumoconiosis were selected over a three-year period for study because of a work history of kaolin exposure. All had worked in the Missouri firebrick industry. Agreement between estimated fibrinogen concentration via thromboelastography and traditional assays is not established in the parturient. We therefore recruited 56 parturients and performed Clauss and functional fibrinogen level (FLEV) tests. Mean difference of measurements was 36.8 mg/dL (95% CI, 21.8-51.9) with a standard deviation of 52.8 mg/dL.
