Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly lethal cancer with frequent genetic mutations. We previously reported the identification of the histone H2BG53D mutation and revealed that this mutation destabilizes nucleosomes and promotes cell migration. Letermovir, GW275175X (a benzimidazole), and tomeglovir (Bay38-4766) are chemically unrelated human cytomegalovirus (CMV) terminase complex inhibitors that have been tested in human subjects. BACKGROUND: About 80% to 90% of children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS) have relapses. Of these children, around half relapse frequently, and are at risk of adverse effects from corticosteroids. Non-corticosteroid immunosuppressive medications are used to prolong periods of remission in these children; however, these medications have significant potential adverse effects. A 31-year old woman developed transverse myelitis after 10 years remission since she was first diagnosed as systemic lupus erythematosus. Although pulse methyl prednisolone resolved her myelitis, Parkinson-like symptoms developed subsequently after reduction of steroid. The effects of four immunosuppressive agents on the in vitro blastogenesis of peripheral blood lymphocytes activated by concanavalin A have been studied using cells from 26 healthy subjects, 34 patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) and 30 kidney transplant recipients. Eighteen patients received 1,250 mg of allopurinol riboside (AR) four times daily for 28 d. Nine of the patients concurrently received 500 mg probenecid (PB) four times daily. Tiazofurin, an investigational antimetabolite, is undergoing clinical evaluation in leukemia. We analyzed the data base of 198 patients entered in Phase I trials to characterize the incidence and severity of toxicities associated with tiazofurin according to dose and schedule. The effect of ribavirin on the growth and replication of La Crosse virus was examined. The data suggest that low concentrations of ribavirin have a marked effect on the initial steps of La Crosse virus transcription.
