OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to describe the findings on contrast examinations of the gastrointestinal tract in patients with small-intestinal transplants.
SUBJECTS AND METHODS: Sixteen consecutive adult transplant recipients received a total of 17 allografts: eight isolated small-bowel, six small-bowel and liver, and three multivisceral (stomach, duodenum, pancreas, small-bowel, liver). The techniques of radiological examination of the small bowel are considered. The importance of the routine barium meal and follow-through examination is stressed. The vast majority of lesions present a diagnostic problem in interpretation rather than in detection. Some examples of small bowel pathology are discussed and the need for interpretation in the light of the clinical picture is emphasized. Important radiological signs to be appreciated are considered.

The records of 24 patients with enterovesical fistula treated at the urology sections of Telemark and Vestfold Central Hospitals are presented. Most fistulas were due to diverticulitis or a malignant tumor. The part of the intestine most frequently affected was the sigmoid colon in 14 patients, the rectum in 3, the cecum in 2 and the small intestine in 2. PURPOSE: To evaluate the ability of fluoroscopic images obtained during air enemas to depict or exclude lead points of intussusceptions and other abnormalities that require surgical treatment in the absence of intussusception.
