We used 10 cadaver knees to estimate the safe pressure during arthroscopy by measuring the volumes and pressures of irrigation fluid at different flexion angles. Maximum volumes could be contained at 35 degrees of flexion. Pressures of 200 to 450 mmHg were measured, and all the knees ruptured by extension or flexion after they were filled to 100 mmHg at 35 degrees of flexion. Fifty milliliters of irrigation fluid had to be removed if the pressure remained constant when extending from 35 degrees and 70 ml when flexing to 90 degrees. Knowledge of right hepatic artery (RHA) and cystic artery (CA) variations is crucial for surgeons performing procedures on the hepatobiliary system, pancreas, and duodenum. The objective of the present work was to estimate the effectiveness of the comprehensive monitoring system designed to enhance the quality of forensic medical expertise for determining the cause of death in the hanging cases. It was shown that the practical application of the algorithmization and automated quality control system improves the effectiveness of forensic medical examination of the cadavers in the hanging cases. The system performs the control, directing, and teaching functions. Moreover, it allows to estimate the completeness of the examination of the cadaver.

BACKGROUND: Transoral techniques for endoscopic thyroidectomy have recently been reported, including a robotic transoral technique to access the thyroid gland. Herein, we developed a robotic transoral periosteal thyroidectomy technique.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The da Vinci(®) Surgical System (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, CA) robot was used in two human cadavers to perform robotic transoral periosteal thyroidectomies. In the first cadaver, the anterior neck was exposed below the platysmal muscle. The anatomical spaces and surgical planes were observed with four ports by a periosteal approach.

In this work, we present a measuring methodology for long bones of the limbs (humerus, femur, and tibia) of human corpses. Measurements of cadaveric height and long bone lengths were conducted on 72 corpses (20 females and 52 males) from the School of Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
