Sebaceous carcinoma (SC) is the third most common eyelid malignancy in Australia, and is potentially fatal. It usually presents as a nodule or diffuse eyelid thickening, and is commonly misdiagnosed. We describe a case of SC with lacrimal sac involvement, presenting with clinical features of nasolacrimal duct obstruction. At the time of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), nasal endoscopy revealed a polypoid mass of the opened lacrimal sac. Biopsy of the mass showed poorly differentiated SC. Cutaneous adnexal tumours encompass a wide group of lesions with apocrine, eccrine, follicular, sebaceous and mixed differentiation. A sebaceous nevus is a congenital skin hamartoma caused by postzygotic HRAS or KRAS mosaic mutations. With age, affected individuals may develop secondary tumors within a sebaceous nevus. RAS mutations are harbored from the onset of sebaceous nevus, and further mutations can be expected to be required in order to explain the initiation of secondary tumors. The case of a female patient with multiple ectodermal and mesodermal malformations present since birth is reported. The cutaneous lesions were of two types: Jadassohn's nevus sebaceus and nevus unius lateris. Between 1966 and 1974, 1260 lidtumours were sent to the histological laboratory of the University Eye Hospital Hamburg. The clinical diagnosis "chalazion" in 138 cases could not be verified histologically in 33 cases. Muir-Torre syndrome patients have multiple visceral malignancies along with cutaneous sebaceous tumors and keratoacanthomas. We describe a history of a 64-year-old male patient with 13 tumours, who survived 13 years. The initial ascending colon adenocarcinoma was followed by some different tumors of the skin: adenoma and carcinoma of sebaceous glands, epidermoid and basaloid carcinoma and other benign tumors. A 52-year-old woman was referred to a dermatologist with a changed yellowish lesion on her scalp. Histological features were those of a sebaceous naevus with secondary malignant differentiation into superficial and solid basal cell carcinoma. A sebaceous naevus is a benign, congenital, hamartomatous lesion. In adulthood, secondary neoplasms may develop within them.

We present a case of squamous cell carcinoma arising in a naevus sebaceous of Jadassohn (NSJ) in a 15-year-old girl. Both these events are rare, and this is the first reported case of a squamous cell carcinoma developing in NSJ in a child. The previous literature on sebaceous naevi and malignancies arising thereof is reviewed and discussed. Early excision is recommended in any cases of nodular change in sebaceous naevi in all age groups.
