Mixed Reality (MR) telecollaboration aims to enable users to share local objects as real-time synchronized virtual replicas to remote partners and collaborate on physical tasks as if they were co-located. However, in everyday scenarios with mobile and easy-to-setup MR devices, visualizing shared objects in a single modality, ranging from 2D images to 3D reconstruction, struggles to simultaneously optimize all the aspects of Spatiality, Fidelity, and Real-time performance. To overcome this issue, existing methods explore integrating multiple visualization modalities to leverage their respective

Leprosy remains an important neglected tropical disease with about 200,000 new cases detected annually worldwide. Although the disease is highly responsive to treatment, a timely and accurate diagnosis continues to be a critical barrier to disease control. Traditional diagnostic methods, including PCR, bacilloscopy, histopathology, and serology, are hindered by limited sensitivity, procedural complexity, and restricted accessibility in resource-constrained settings. This review summarizes studies from the past decade on biosensor-based strategies for leprosy diagnosis. Biosensor platforms for

Following large-scale radiation events, an overwhelming number of people will potentially need mitigators or treatment for radiation-induced injuries. This necessitates having methods to triage people based on their dose and its likely distribution, so life-saving treatment is directed only to people who can benefit from such care. Using estimates of victims following an improvised nuclear device striking a major city, we illustrate a two-tier approach to triage. At the second tier, after first removing most who would not benefit from care, biodosimetry should provide accurate dose estimates a

The female condom is a potentially effective method for the prevention of HIV, other sexually transmitted disease, and pregnancy. This study describes attitudes toward and experiences with the female condom of 89 HIV-positive individuals (n = 56 women; n = 33 men) reporting heterosexual behavior. Qualitative interviews were conducted to inform the design and implementation of a cognitive-behavioral risk-reduction and health-promotion intervention. Most respondents (n = 78) had seen or heard of the female condom. However, relatively few (n = 14 women; n = 5 men) had used it at least once. React
