A review of hyperthermia combined with radiotherapy/chemotherapy on malignant tumors.

Therapeutic hyperthermia is a procedure that involves heating tissues to a higher temperature level, typically ranging from 41 degrees C to 45 degrees C. Its combination with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy has been performed for many years, with remarkable success in treating advanced and recurrent cancers. The current hyperthermia strategies generally include local, regional, and whole-body hyperthermia, which can be implemented by many heating methods, such as microwave, radiofrequency, laser, and ultrasound. There are several hyperthermic treatment modalities in conjunction with radiother

Microwave-assisted synthesis of dual-emissive N, Fe-Co-doped carbon dot nanocomposites for latent fingerprint visualization via AI-enhanced analytical engineering.

There is an urgent need for strategies that enable the rapid synthesis of long-wavelength fluorescent carbon dots (CDs). In forensic science, the development and analysis of latent fingerprints (LFPs) are vital for criminal investigations. This process involves two steps: enhancing LFP visualization for better detectability and using digital processing techniques for accurate database comparisons. Long-wavelength-emitting CDs can significantly improve LFP visualization by enhancing contrast and minimizing background interference. This study focuses on synthesizing dual green/red-emissive nitro

Histotripsy Compared With Microwave Ablation, Radiofrequency Ablation, and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy for the Treatment of Liver Tumors.

Liver cancer encompasses both primary and secondary malignancies, each carrying unique diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. The goals of conventional liver-directed treatments, including radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, and stereotactic body radiotherapy, are local tumor control and improved survival outcomes. However, these treatments are limited by the heat-sink effect, incomplete ablation around vascular structures, and risk of collateral tissue injury. These limitations have prompted the exploration of alternative, non-thermal, and minimally invasive options. Histotripsy is a

Synthesis and characterization of PANI-ZrWPO4 nanocomposite: adsorption-reduction efficiency and regeneration potential for Cr(VI) removal.

A novel polyaniline zirconium tungstophosphate (PANI-ZrWPO4) nanocomposite was successfully synthesized through an in situ oxidative polymerization reaction followed by a microwave irradiation process. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by using FESEM, EDX, TEM, XRD, FTIR, Raman, TGA-DTA, XPS, and N2 adsorption-desorption analysis and chemical analysis to know about the formation of material. The results of the FTIR and Raman spectra confirmed that the conducting PANI polymer interacted with ZrWPO4 to form the PANI-ZrWPO4 nanocomposite. The XRD data showed that the composite had a

[A case of familial juvenile gouty nephropathy associated with a right renal tumor].

We present a case of familial juvenile gouty nephropathy which was associated with a right renal tumor that was found incidentally. The patient was a 27-year-old woman who initially presented with acute gouty arthritis at the age of twenty years. Her mother and her sister had been attacked with acute gouty arthritis in their early twenties. Progressive deterioration in the renal function was noted in the three family members who had experienced gouty attack. Her mother was maintained on hemodialysis. As image diagnoses could not rule out malignancy in her right renal tumor, in situ non-ischemi

[Expert consensus on clinical practice of co-ablation therapy of malignant pancreatic tumors].

Ablation technology is a key component of localised treatment strategies for solid tumours. Among these techniques, cryoablation is widely used in clinical practice because of its minimally invasive nature, controllability, and relatively low incidence of complications. A new generation of composite cryo-thermal ablation systems, independently developed in China, integrates cryoablation and thermal ablation, and its efficacy and safety have been extensively validated in clinical settings. Compared with traditional microwave ablation, radiofrequency ablation, or cryoablation alone, combined cry

High-Performance Microwave-Synthesized Graphene Supercapacitive Synapses for Reservoir Preprocessing in Neuromorphic Computing.

Reservoir computing bridges the gap between artificial intelligence and the physical environment. The realization of such systems depends on artificial synapses that emulate neurobiological plasticity in response to external stimuli. Functioning as reservoirs, these synapses convert the input signals into reservoir states, which are then retrieved by the readout layer. However, energy is merely dissipated during the operation of existing artificial synapses. Herein, we propose an energy-storage-involved reservoir architecture based on graphene-based supercapacitors. Reduced graphene oxide elec
