BACKGROUND: The histologic diagnosis of atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) can sometimes be challenging. No specific marker exists to confirm the diagnosis other than excluding other entities. CD163 has been shown to have great specificity for tumors of monocyte/histiocyte lineage. BACKGROUND: Incomplete Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) is the cessation of MMS while the tumor margins are known to be still positive.
OBJECTIVE: Our purpose was to examine the factors behind unplanned incomplete MMS and to identify means of avoiding and managing this situation when it arises.

A commonly recognized feature of chronic radiation dermatitis is the presence of mesenchymal cells with large atypical nuclei known as radiation fibroblasts. Little is known about their lineage or potential for neoplastic transformation. Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (LGMS) is a rare spindle cell tumor with indolent course. Due to rarity and low-grade histologic features of LGMS, accurate diagnosis is challenging. Primary dermal sarcomas (PDS) belong to a highly clinically, genetically and pathologically heterogeneous group of rare malignant mesenchymal tumours primarily involving the dermis or the subcutaneous tissue.
