Although they were once believed to be distinct diseases, many observers currently consider erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis to represent a mild-to-severe continuum of the same process. Each shares certain clinical, histologic, and etiologic characteristics; among the latter two are frequent ocular involvement. Because long-term ophthalmic sequelae may be catastrophic, early recognition and therapy of this acute oculocutaneous disease spectrum are critically important.

INTRODUCTION: Mobius syndrome is characterized by damage in the nucleus of the sixth and seventh cranial nerves, with subsequent facial palsy and abduction limitation of the eyes. The aim of this article is to describe the ophthalmological findings of the Mobius syndrome in Mexican children.

Sebaceous carcinoma is a malignant neoplasm that occurs most commonly in the periorbital area, usually the eyelid. PURPOSE: To offer an alternative to frontalis sling techniques to achieve a more horizontal traction vector force with the frontalis muscle flap. The proposed technique avoids malpositions such as pulling the upper eyelid in an anterior plane during maximum opening and ptosis of the eyelashes.

Trachoma is the leading infectious cause of blindness worldwide and data are needed on the epidemiological characteristics of active and residual disease in hyperendemic areas. OVERVIEW: Feline ulcerative keratitis is a common presenting complaint and is frequently a sequela of feline herpesvirus 1 (FHV-1) infection; so much so, in fact, that it is fair to assume an FHV-1 aetiology until proven otherwise. Congenital horizontal tarsal kink is extremely rare. Only one case of associated microphthalmos has been reported. Various surgical techniques have been described with successful results. Few reported cases have been managed with intermarginal suture tarsorrhaphy. The current case is probably the third patient with severe tarsal kink to be managed with this simple technique.
