BACKGROUND: The use of ifosfamide for conventional chemotherapy of pancreatic tumors is limited by systemic toxicity caused, in part, by its activation by liver-specific cytochrome enzymes and the subsequent systemic distribution of metabolites. Ewing's sarcoma is a rare, aggressive malignant tumor of bone and soft tissue that predominantly affects adolescents and young adults. INTRODUCTION: Hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma is a rare form of extranodal non-Hodgkin lymphoma, first recognized as a distinct entity in the Revised European-American Lymphoma classification.
