RNA modifications represent a crucial layer of post-transcriptional regulation, yet their dynamic landscape during testicular maturation remains largely uncharted. In this study, we employed Nanopore Direct RNA Sequencing to generate a comprehensive epitranscriptomic dataset for porcine testicular tissue at pre-sexual and post-sexual maturation stages. Of 49 compounds known to have antitumor properties, 6 were found to have significant activity against Trypanosoma rhodesiense infections in mice. Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a late-onset and fatal viral disease caused by persistent infection of the central nervous system by measles virus (MeV). We present the case of a 10-year-old child from South Asia affected by SSPE, stabilized with a combination of intrathecal interferon-α2b (INF-α2b) injections and oral inosiplex and how we continued the treatment when inosiplex was commercially stopped worldwide.

Treatment of alopecia areata remains unsatisfactory. We decided to test if systemic therapy with inosiplex (Isoprinosine(R)), an immunomodulator could influence the disease. Thirty-two subjects with recalcitrant alopecia areata, aged 16-48 years (mean 30.3+/-5.1 years), were randomized into two treatment groups of 16 subjects each. They were assigned to receive either oral inosiplex (group 1), or placebo (group 2) on a double-blind basis. Inosiplex dosage was 50 mg/kg/day in five divided doses for 12 weeks. A novel nucleoside, O2'-methylinosine (Im), has been identified as a constituent of the ribosomal RNA of Crithidia fasciculata, a hemoflaggelate protozoan. Mizoribine is a well-known immunosuppressive drug, based on a nucleoside scaffold, that targets inosine-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH). In an effort to increase its in vivo efficacy, three different types of prodrugs (a phosphoramidate prodrug, a lipophilic ester derivative and an amino acid conjugate) were prepared. This study evaluates the effectiveness of immunomodulating drug isoprinosine in a comprehensive treatment of genital warts in men. Most of the patients were aged 20-30 years.
