Return to Work and Work Productivity During the First Year After Cancer Treatment.

OBJECTIVES: Working-age cancer patients face barriers to resuming work after treatment completion. Those resuming work contend with reduced productivity arising from persisting residual symptoms. Existing studies of return to work (RTW) after cancer diagnosis were done predominantly in Western countries. Given that employment and RTW in cancer survivors likely vary regionally due to healthcare provision and social security differences, we documented rates and correlates of RTW, work productivity, and activity impairment among Chinese cancer survivors in Hong Kong at one-year post-treatment. The impact of treatment-resistant depression on the lives of carers: A mixed-methods study.

INTRODUCTION: The lived experiences of informal carers of people with depression, particularly those with treatment-resistant depression (TRD), are rarely explored, despite their vital supportive role. METHODS: This mixed-methods study explored the quality of life (QoL) and experiences of carers of individuals with symptomatic TRD (Carers-Sym-TRD; n = 79) or in remission post-TRD (Carers-Rem-TRD; n = 20). Participating carers completed quantitative surveys measuring health-related and broader QoL (EQ-5D-5L/WHOQOL-BREF) and work productivity/activity impairment (WPAI:MM-CG). Interviews were al

Testing the efficacy of WORK-ON: vocational rehabilitation for people with chronic inflammatory arthritis in Denmark-protocol for a randomised controlled trial.

INTRODUCTION: Among people with chronic inflammatory arthritis (IA), up to 40% lose their job in the first few years after diagnosis of this condition and are hence at high risk of being permanently excluded from the labour market. Therefore, we developed a new context-specific vocational rehabilitation (VR) for people with IA. This 6 month VR (WORK-ON) includes the following: (1) an initial assessment and goal setting by a coordinating occupational therapist, who supports cooperation and coordination between relevant partners and navigation across primary and secondary care, (2) four group se
