HISTORY AND CLINICAL FINDINGS: For several months a 29 years old woman suffered from dry cough, dyspnea, and weakness. The clinical examination was without any abnormal findings.

AIM: To evaluate the influence of su-jok therapy (one of the methods of alternative medicine) in combination with chemotherapy on the course of bronchial asthma.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: 68 patients have undergone su-jok therapy in combination with drug treatment in accordance with international asthma consensus. Control group of 44 patients received only chemotherapy. The response was assessed by: quantitative indices of asthma course, FEV1, FEF 25, 75, 50, PEF, demand of beta2-agonists, long-term outcomes.
RESULTS: The efficiency coefficient made up 2.64 in patients versus 1.48 in controls.

We present the case of a male patient with sero-negative rheumatoid arthritis, treated with gold salts, admitted for clinical symptoms and chest X-ray alterations suggesting an interstitial lung disease. This was confirmed by complex lung function tests and fiber bronchoscopy with broncho-alveolar lavage. From September 1960 to December 1992, 2021 patients with pulmonary sarcoidosis were registered in our Sarcoidosis Clinic. 462 patients were treated with steroids. Eighteen patients of Cushing's Disease, who had undergone bilateral "total" adrenalectomy 2 to 10 years back, were evaluated for residual adrenocortical function and for any evidence of Nelson's Syndrome. We followed up 21 Cushing's disease patients (16 females and 5 males) aged 15 to 46 years, treated with reserpine (R) plus pituitary irradiation (PI). Mean duration of R administration and mean dose of PI were 24.5 +/- 10.8 (mean +/- SD) months and 54.0 +/- 9.8 Gy, respectively.
