[Early loss of primary molar and permanent tooth germ caused by the use of devitalizer during primary molar root canal therapy: Two cases report].

Devitalization has been widely used in the root canal therapy of primary and permanent teeth in China more than ten years ago. With the development of local anesthetic drugs and injection technologies, this treatment method with high potential risks has been gradually abandoned. However, a questionnaire survey targeted all the participants at the 2018 China Pediatric Dentistry Conference showed that the devitalizer utilization proportion was still as high as 38.1% (383/1 005), even though the ratio was much lower than 75.5% (105/139) in 2003. These doctors had pay more attention to tissue burn

Preimplantation filling of tooth socket with beta-tricalcium phosphate/polylactic-polyglycolic acid (beta-TCP/PLGA) root analogue: clinical and histological analysis in a patient.

INTRODUCTION: Bone resorption is a physiological process after tooth extraction. The use of bone substitutes to fill the tooth socket is suggested to prevent bone resorption and establish good bone architecture for implant placement. A pure beta-tricalcium phosphate coated with copolymer (polylactic-polyglycolic acid) as a root analogue, is suitable for filling tooth sockets. CASE REPORT: We presented a patient successfully treated with root analogue after extraction of the right second lower premolar. Three months later, the patient was planned for the placement of six TE ITI dental implants

The effect of non-invasive physical interventions for accelerating tooth movement on orthodontically induced inflammatory root resorption: a systematic review and network meta-analysis.

OBJECTIVE: Root resorption is one of the most common complications following orthodontic treatment, and severe cases may compromise tooth stability and function. Over the past decades, pharmacological, surgical, and non-invasive physical interventions have been explored to mitigate orthodontically induced root resorption. Among these approaches, non-invasive physical interventions have attracted increasing attention because of their favorable safety profile and clinical convenience. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effects of non-invasive physical interventions on orthodontically in

Micro-CT Assessment of Hydraulic Calcium Silicate Cements for Perforating Internal Resorption in 3D-printed Tooth Replicas at Different Root Thirds: An In Vitro Study.

INTRODUCTION: Effective repair of perforating internal resorption (PIR) requires adequate defect filling; however, the influence of defect location on the filling ability of hydraulic calcium silicate cements (HCSCs) remains unclear. This micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) study evaluated Bio-C Repair (BCR), Biodentine (BD), and white MTA-Angelus (WMTA) in three dimensional-printed tooth replicas with PIR defects in different root thirds. The null hypothesis was that material performance would not differ according to defect location. METHODS: A maxillary central incisor was instrumented to

Effect of α7 nAChR-autophagy axis of deciduous tooth pulp stem cells in regulating IL-1β in the process of physiological root resorption of deciduous teeth.

Physiological root resorption of deciduous teeth is a normal phenomenon occurring during the developmental stages of children. Previous research has indicated the pivotal role of the inflammatory microenvironment in this process, although the specific mechanisms remain unclear. This study is aimed at elucidating the involvement of the alpha7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (α7 nAChR)-autophagy axis in the regulation of the inflammatory microenvironment during physiological root resorption in deciduous teeth. Samples were collected from deciduous teeth at various stages of physiological root

Neuropathology of the spinal nerve roots, spinal cord, and brain in the first autopsied case of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease 4F with a D651N mutation in the periaxin gene.

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) 4F is an autosomal recessive, hereditary peripheral neuropathy, mostly caused by mutations in the periaxin gene (PRX). This article reports neuropathological findings of the spinal nerve roots, spinal cord, and brain of a patient with CMT4F and a D651N missense mutation in PRX. The patient was a 74-year-old woman who had a history of peripheral neuropathy with onset at the age of 30 years. She also had a history of infantile paralysis at the age of 18 months. The most pronounced autopsy finding was diffuse enlargement of anterior and posterior nerve roots, acc

Meloxicam medication reduces orthodontically induced dental root resorption and tooth movement velocity: a combined in vivo and in vitro study of dental-periodontal cells and tissue.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) are used to alleviate pain sensations during orthodontic therapy but are also assumed to interfere with associated pseudo-inflammatory reactions. In particular, the effects of partially selective COX-2 inhibition over the constitutively expressed COX-1 (11:1) on periodontal cells and tissue, as induced by the NSAID meloxicam, remain unclear. We investigate possible adverse side-effects and potentially useful beneficial effects during orthodontic therapy and examine underlying cellular and tissue reactions. We randomly assigned 63 male Fischer344 ra
