We reported here the fabrication of a hierarchical mesoporous zeolite nanocomposite using 20 nm crystalline domins of zeolite L as building "bricks" by a simple and general one-step synthetic approach. Novel hydroxypyrazoline derivatives of tetracycline and minocycline have been synthesized through the reaction of these tetracyclines with hydrazine. The formation of a new chiral center at C12 is stereospecific to give 12S-12-hydroxy-1,12-pyrazolinotetracycline. BACKGROUND: The increasing prevalence of phytopathogenic bacteria, such as Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc), Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. citri (Xac) and Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa), poses a serious threat to global agricultural productivity, underscoring the urgent need for novel antibacterial agents with distinct mechanisms of action. This study designed, synthesized, and evaluated a series of phosphonyl-substituted vanillyl sulfonyl hydrazide derivatives for their antibacterial activity and to elucidate the potential mechanisms of action of the most active compound.

Trans-cyclooctenes (TCOs) represent interesting and highly reactive dipolarophiles for organic transformations including bioorthogonal chemistry. Herein we show that TCOs react rapidly with nitrones and that these reactions are bioorthogonal.
