Epidermal naevi are common cutaneous mosaic disorders that occur in 0.1-0.3% of live births. They are subdivided into keratinocytic and organoid naevi, the latter including naevus sebaceus (NS). Typically, NS develops as a yellowish-orange plaque on the scalp, and represents a hamartoma containing epidermal, sebaceous and apocrine elements. Fordyce's granules were observed in the gingiva of the upper incisor and molar teeth in F344 rats. The data were based on 734 males and 722 females that were used as control and treated animals in 26-week, 65-week, and 2-year studies by the National Toxicology Program. Follicular mucinosis is a histologic term for a reaction pattern in follicular epithelium. Although it is the sine qua non for alopecia mucinosa as a disease sui generis, it may occur in a variety of unrelated conditions, which may be inflammatory, hamartomatous, hyperplastic, or neoplastic. METHODS: Observational prospective cohort study of patients with newly-diagnosed OSC. The British Ophthalmological Surveillance Unit captured incident cases of OSC between 2008 and 2010. Adnexal tumours of the skin are benign, more rarely malignant, primary skin tumours that originate from, or differentiate towards, hair follicles, sebaceous and sweat glands. Sialolipoma of the salivary gland is a tumor with ambiguous histogenesis. Histologically, this lesion is composed of mature adipose tissue and salivary glandular components. To the best of our knowledge, only 12 documented cases of sialolipoma have been reported in the literature. Except for 1 congenital case, all of the cases were found in adult patients. In this report, we present a unique case of sialolipoma with diffuse sebaceous differentiation in a 3-year-old female child. The differential diagnoses are discussed.

OBJECTIVE: This report describes the sonographic features of 2 patients with invasive carcinoma of the breast that sonographically mimicked benign epithelial cysts of the areola.
METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed 2 cases of invasive ductal carcinoma that initially were diagnosed as dermal lesions in the areola after sonographic evaluation.
RESULTS: Sonographically, the 2 lesions were centered between the echogenic lines of the deep dermis of the areola. Neither sonogram showed a deeper component arising from the underlying breast tissue that would suggest a breast origin.
