Sclerosing polycystic adenoma (SPA) is the more appropriate name for sclerosing polycystic adenosis. SPA is an uncommon salivary gland lesion with a constellation of unusual histologic findings that were originally interpreted as analogous to breast fibrocystic changes. The histologic findings in SPA include fibrosis, cystic alterations, apocrine metaplasia, and proliferations of ducts, acini, and myoepithelial cells in variable proportions. We here report the case of a 75 year old patient, with lower urinary tract obstructive syndrome such as dysuria, nocturnal pollakiuria and dribbling. Clinical examination showed good general condition by examining the rectum with the finger, soft, painless prostate increased in volume with obliteration of the median sulcus. PSA level was 2,1ng/ml, prostatic weight was 240 g on ultrasound. The patient underwent surgery: transvesical adenomectomy with extraction of a giant adenoma weighing 246 g. Histologic examination showed adenomyofibroma.

We present 3 cases of pituitary adenoma apoplexy in young women (one microadenoma and two macroadenomas). The possible risk factors, clinical presentation and outcome of pituitary apoplexy are discussed. Diagnostic errors as regards pituitary adenoma apoplexy are analyzed.

Pleomorphic adenomas are the most widespread epithelial tumours originating from the salivary glands. In almost 90% of the cases, they are localized in the parotid salivary glands. Pleomorphic adenomas only rarely affect the larynx. To the best of our knowledge, as many as 27 cases of laryngeal pleomorphic adenoma have thus far been described in the special literature. Primary Hyperparathyroidism is most commonly caused by parathyroid adenoma. Parathyroid adenoma is generally suspected by certain symptoms and biochemical abnormalities. We present two cases that developed clinical, biochemical and radiological evidences of primary and secondary hyperparathyroidism. In the first case the adenoma was removed through a transcervical incision and in the second case the supernumerary adenoma was removed through sternotomy. Post operatively, patients had normal serum calcium and iPTH with complete disappearance of symptoms.

A 54-year-old woman was referred for imaging studies after presentation for palpitations and a palpable thyroid nodule. The patient underwent a dual-phase single-agent Tc-99m sestamibi scan followed later by a thyroid ultrasound at an outside hospital. Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common tumor of major salivary glands, but it is unusual into the larynx. The AA. expose a case of a 74-year-old man who consulted for dysphonia and diagnosed as having a subglottic pleomorphic adenoma. The patient needed an urgent tracheotomy owing to the dyspnoea. Removal of the tumor was made through direct laryngoscopy. Literature on pleomorphic laryngeal adenoma is reviewed.

Of 209 cases of pleomorphic adenoma treated in a 30 year period, 38 were secondary referrals with recurrent disease following surgery. Of these, 25 were women and 13 men with a mean time to recurrence of 9 years 4 months. Thirty-four recurrences were in the parotid gland, three in the submandibular gland and one in the anterior faucial pillar. This case report describes a rare complication of hepatic adenomata in a 33-year-old female. The patient initially presented with abdominal pain, and baseline imaging demonstrated several hepatic adenomas, the largest of which (approximately 8 cm) was adjacent to the inferior vena cava. Owing to the location of this adenoma, surgical/vascular intervention was deemed inappropriate. Dermatomyositis (DM) has been associated with gastrointestinal malignancy but not with polyps or adenoma. We report a case of villous adenoma associated with DM.
