We present the case of an 18-year-old man with chest wall angiolipoma and a medical history of von Recklinghausen neurofibromatosis. The chest wall tumor was originally detected during an evaluation for chest pain. For diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, video-assisted thoracoscopic resection was performed, and the tumor was histopathologically confirmed to be an angiolipoma. Chest wall angiolipoma is exceptionally rare. Only two cases have been reported in the English literature, with no reports regarding chest wall angiolipoma in a patient with von Recklinghausen disease.

Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS) is the cessation of airflow with the continuance of respiratory effort during sleep. OSAS associated with a neck mass is extremely rare. Angiolipoma is a rare, benign, fatty tumour composed of mature lipocytes and multiple areas containing angiomatous elements. The treatment for an angiolipoma is surgical excision. We report the case of a 47-year-old male who presented with a history of loud snoring associated with sleep apnoea. A polysomnographic study demonstrated an apnoea-hypopnoea index of 72/h. CT showed a 3.5 x 3 x 8 cm3 hypoattenuated mass of fa

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) may be associated with hepatic angiomyolipoma. In contradistinction to renal angiomyolipoma this lesion is rare, and nontraumatic hemorrhage has not so far been described. This is the first report of a spontaneously ruptured, surgically treated and histologically verified, hepatic angiomyolipoma in TSC. Anomalies of the vessel walls and consequently the hazard of bleeding are known to increase with the diameter of the tumor in other localizations. It is concluded that in cases with rapid tumor growth and marked vessel anomalies elective surgery should be consid

A quadragenarian male presented with gradual protrusion of the left eyeball for 7-8 months' duration. On examination, the best corrected visual acuity in the right eye was 20/20, while in the left eye there was no light perception. Contrast-enhanced CT scan revealed a well-defined fat-density mass in the extraconal compartment of the left superior orbit, causing inferolateral globe dystopia with resultant stretching of the optic nerve. Provisionally, orbital dermoid or lipoma was considered in the differential diagnosis. Anterior orbitotomy with complete excision of the mass was performed unde

Angiolipoma are benign tumors composed of mature adipocytes ad mixed with abnormal vascular elements. It reportedly accounts for 0.1-0.5% of all spinal axis tumors in adults and is extremely rare in children. This article describes a case of spinal extradural angiolipoma in a 35-year-old man, who presented with paraplegia and sphincter disorders, the MRI showed extradural spinal lesions at the level of T7 to T10, that squeezed the spinal cord. We attained total resection without any further neurological complication. The diagnosis of SEALs initially can be challenging radiologically since they

BACKGROUND: Angiolipoma has been reported in many cases, and it often occurs in the skin of the trunk and limbs. However, angiolipoma in the scrotum is a rare disease with unknown etiology. This condition is difficult to diagnosis with other lumps in the scrotum.
CASE SUMMARY: A 32-year-old man presented to the urinary department with a history of an enlarged left scrotum with increasing discomfort for about 5 years. Physical examination revealed that there were a palpable mass measuring about 7.0 cm × 6.5 cm in the left scrotum, with smooth surfaces but without tenderness or adhesion to the

BACKGROUND: Spinal angiolipomas (SAs) are rare, benign tumors, representing 0.0004 to 1.2% of angiolipomas, usually located at the extradural and posterior thoracic level, with multimetameric extension.
METHODS: A systematic literature review was performed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement. The authors searched on PubMed and Scopus databases for published articles with the Mesh term "spinal angiolipoma" and pertinent associations. Language restriction to English papers was applied. The authors also reported three emblematic

BACKGROUND: Spinal angiolipomas are rare benign epidural tumors accounting for 0.14-1.2% of all spinal neoplasms. Pathologically, these lesions are composed of mature adipose tissue and contain proliferative vascular elements. Here, a 44-year-old female presented with a thoracic epidural angiolipoma causing progressive myelopathy, which was diagnosed and effectively managed, resulting in a good clinical outcome.
CASE DESCRIPTION: A 44-year-old female presented with a 7-month history of progressive thoracolumbar pain radiating into the lower extremities, accompanied by bilateral paraparesis (M

A male patient in his late 50s presented with a long-standing, painless sublingual mass causing progressive impairment of speech, mastication, swallowing and intermittent respiratory discomfort due to restricted tongue mobility. An MRI demonstrated a well-circumscribed lipomatous lesion without evidence of significant vascular involvement, suggesting a conventional lipoma and facilitating surgical planning; however, definitive diagnosis remained uncertain preoperatively. The lesion was successfully excised through a transoral approach under intravenous sedation and local anaesthesia, with comp

Angiolipoma, a common benign tumor mostly seen in the subcutaneous tissue, is a rare pathological condition in the gastrointestinal tract that is usually diagnosed postoperatively. In this case report, an angiolipoma was diagnosed preoperatively by imaging (including CT scans, abdominal echo, barium enema, and colonoscopy). This pathology was confirmed postoperatively. Computed tomography scan, abdominal echo, and barium enema images were presented.

Spinal extradural angiolipomas are distinct, benign, and rare lesions composed of mature lipocytes admixed with abnormal blood vessels. They account for 0.14% of all spinal axis tumors. The case described here was a 72-year-old patient presenting with a history of paraparesis, hypoesthesia under the T2 level, hyperreflexia, and urinary overflow incontinence that appeared within 7 days after the administration of a coronary vasodilator drug regimen. The spinal magnetic resonance scan showed a lipomatous mass with signal void lesions, suggesting a vascular component of the tumor. The patient imp

Epidural angiolipomas are rare tumours and are histologically benign, but their myelographic and macroscopic appearance is malignant. Surgical results are satisfactory. A case is reported in a 48-year-old woman with a slowly progressive cauda equina compression syndrome in whom an epidural angiolipoma was successfully removed. The special feature of this case was a generalized severe spinal osteoporosis with a pathological fracture of a vertebral body at the level of the tumour.

BACKGROUND: Angiolipoma is a rare benign neoplasm composed of mature fatty tissue and multiple small abnormal blood vessels. Infiltrating mediastinal angiolipoma is an extremely rare tumor associated with delayed diagnosis.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 42-year-old woman was presented with 3-month history of mild chest tightness. Imaging of the chest showed a large mass with fat densities in the middle superior mediastinum. A presumptive diagnosis was a tumor of liposarcoma. The patient was scheduled for a thoracotomy. After the excision, the symptoms were relieved and histological study revealed that

Solitary benign angiolipoma and infiltrative angiolipoma are rare tumours in dogs. Angiolipomata can be distinguished histologically from lipomata by the large number of tightly packed blood vessels seen between the adipocytes with multiple fibrin thrombi occupying some of the vessels' lumens. The dog presented with a solitary slow-growing mass in the cervical region. Histopathology revealed multifocal to coalescing single or clusters of blood-filled vessels lined by flattened endothelial cells with narrow, elongated, basophilic nuclei. These regions were embedded in adipose tissue with multif

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE: We report the case of an extremely rare intraosseous adipocytic tumor of the mandible. Angiolipoma is a unique variant of lipoma composed of mature fat cells with proliferating capillaries.
CASE REPORT: An asymptomatic 63-year-old patient attended a dental check-up, and a bordered radiolucency was incidentally found on the lower left side of the mandibular body. Conservative enucleation was performed with significant intraoperative bleeding. The preliminary diagnosis was central giant cell granuloma (CGCG). Histological analysis revealed that the lesion consisted of lo

INTRODUCTION: We report a rare case of multiple spermatic cord angiolipomas.
CASE PRESENTATION: An 85-year-old man with a history of laparoscopic right nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma was referred for evaluation of a palpable right scrotal mass. Ultrasonography showed a single solid mass. Computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a solid nodule in contact with the right spermatic cord and a fatty mass below the nodule. Right inguinal orchiectomy was performed. Histopathological examination of the surgical specimen was consistent with angiolipoma. He was discharged 4 day
