One hundred and sixty-nine aphakic eyes underwent secondary implantation of anterior chamber lenses. The postoperative visual acuity decreased by one or more lines in five eyes (3%), remained the same in 71 eyes (42%), and improved by one or more lines in 93 eyes (55%). The presence of macular degeneration, background diabetic retinopathy, and open-angle glaucoma with a cup-to-disc ratio of 0.6 or less did not contribute to any visual deterioration.

Seventy-six patients undergoing cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation were examined prospectively to evaluate the accuracy of a photogrammetric method for estimating postoperative anterior chamber depth and the predictive value of preoperative anterior chamber depth on postoperative anterior chamber depth. The photogrammetric method was less accurate than the use of a fixed figure determined by the average measured postoperative anterior chamber depth. Measuring the anterior chamber depth preoperatively had even less predictive value.

We aimed to evaluate the implantation of a posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) in the anterior chamber (AC) with the haptics passing through two iridectomies to the posterior chamber. A total of 33 eyes of 33 patients with inadequate posterior capsular support due to either previous aphakia or posterior capsular rupture during cataract extraction were included in the study. A double iridectomy was performed on all patients using a vitrectomy probe on the midperiphery of the iris. PURPOSE: To report the case of an anterior chamber epithelial cyst after uncomplicated deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) treated with a tissue-sparing surgical technique.
METHODS: A 35-year-old female patient underwent DALK in her OS because of stage IV keratoconus. The surgery was uneventful, and 3 months postoperatively, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 20/25. By the sixth postoperative month, a cystic iris lesion was noticed. We report a case of intraocular Linguatula in healthy young female who presented with a history of trivial trauma, dislocated lens, inflammation and secondary glaucoma. A mobile worm was seen in the anterior chamber. Pars plana lensectomy and vitrectomy was planned to remove both the cataractous lens and the parasite during which the worm disappeared from view but was later recovered from the cassette fluid. It was identified as the nymphal form of Linguatula serrata (tongue worm).
