In a group of patients with breast lumps, diagnosis made by pre-operative aspiration cytology was compared with that obtained by histological section of excised specimens. Results showed that aspiration cytology correctly diagnosed 89% of malignant lesions and 92.6% of benign lesions based upon histological diagnosis. Cytological diagnosis of benign disease had a false negative rate of 6% while cytological diagnosis of malignant disease had a 2.7% false positive rate. Time poverty, the chronic subjective perception of having too little time, may undermine meaning in life (MIL). Integrating scarcity theory with goal content theory, we propose that it does so in part by reducing the importance people place on intrinsic goals. PURPOSE: This study explored how adolescent mothers in Pakistan experience the transition to motherhood and the mental health challenges that arise during this period.
METHODS: A focused ethnographic study was conducted with 25 adolescent mothers in Matiari, Sindh. We investigated how 57 adolescents (23 girls and 34 boys), aged 12 to 15 years, compared their idea of normative life span development to their personal future goals.
