CXCL10 plays an important role in angiogenesis and inhibits the differentiation of endothelial cells into capillaries. It also plays an important role in the generation and transmission of effector T cell responses and the recruitment of T cells to inflammatory sites. In this article, we constructed cDNAs to identify and analyse the CXCL10 domain, and performed multiple alignments and a phylogenetic analysis to determine homology with other animals. AIMS: Δ133p53α is a naturally occurring isoform of the human p53 protein that inhibits p53-mediated cellular senescence. We previously reported that transgenic expression of this senescence-inhibitory p53 isoform counteracts aging-associated pathological changes in progeria model mice (heterozygous Lmna G609G/+ ). This study aimed to investigate the serum and expression levels of C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 9 (CXCL9), CXCL10, CXCL11, and CXC receptor 3 (CXCR3) in minor salivary glands (MSGs) of patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), and to explore their correlations with clinical parameters. BACKGROUND: Despite a significant advance in multiple sclerosis (MS) treatment, the lack of reliable and easily available prognostic biomarkers, even with serum NfL and GFAP now available, is more exposed than ever, as they would enable tailoring the therapeutic approach to an individual. AIMS: The CXC chemokine CXCL10 is up-regulated in the infarcted myocardium and limits cardiac fibrosis by inhibiting growth factor-mediated fibroblast migration. CXCL10 signals by binding to its receptor CXCR3; however, recently CXCR3-independent CXCL10 actions have been suggested.
