Significance of supervision sampling in control of communicable respiratory disease simulated by a new model during different stages of the disease.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) interventions in interrupting transmission have paid heavy losses politically and economically. The Chinese government has replaced scaling up testing with monitoring focus groups and randomly supervising sampling, encouraging scientific research on the COVID-19 transmission curve to be confirmed by constructing epidemiological models, which include statistical models, computer simulations, mathematical illustrations of the pathogen and its effects, and several other methodologies. Although predicting and forecasting the propagation of COVID-19 are valua

Implementation of a Community-Based Public Model for the Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases in Migrant Communities in Catalonia.

In high-income countries, migrant populations have a greater epidemiological vulnerability: increased exposure to infectious diseases, difficulties in diagnosis, case follow-up and contact tracing, and obstacles following preventive measures related to cultural and administrative barriers. This study aims to describe the implementation of a community-based program to address these challenges. The target population is the migrant native population from North Africa, South Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America resident in Catalonia during 2023. Implementation phases include

[Achievements and failure of WHO during realization of the control programmes of the communicable diseases during twentieth century].

Eradication of smallpox in 1977 in the world was the greatest achievement of the health status of the world population. It is also greatest cost benefit achievement not only in the health control programmes, but also in general economy. This achievement was possible from from two main reasons: (a) because vertical, well organized programmes was implemented and (b) during realization of the program change of strategy was introduced. That change allowed to speed up the efficacy of the epidemiological results (active epidemiological methodology was implemented). The essential contribution of Prof

A retrospective analysis of hypertension screening at a mass gathering in India: implications for non-communicable disease control strategies.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading case of mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCD) in India. The government's National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke seeks to increase capacity building, screening, referral and management of NCDs across India, and includes community-based outreach and screening programmes. The government in India routinely provides basic care at religious mass gatherings. However, in 2015, at the Kumbh Mela in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, the state government extended its services to include a hypertension sc

Financing policies to sustain improved prevention, control, and management of non-communicable diseases and mental health conditions.

All countries have pledged to tackle the growing burden of non-communicable diseases and mental health conditions, but financing has not followed. This Health Policy summarises the background research and key messages from a financing dialogue convened by WHO and the World Bank in June, 2024. Although each country context is unique, policies to lower the costs of essential medicines and improve the implementation of excise taxes on tobacco and other unhealthy products would be priorities for most countries. Multisectoral coalitions play a key role in advocating for non-communicable disease and

Study protocol for evaluating the effectiveness of depression management on gylcaemic control in non-communicable diseases clinics in Malawi.

INTRODUCTION: Depression is associated with negative patient outcomes for chronic diseases and likely affects consistent physical non-communicable diseases (NCDs) care management in relation to clinic attendance and medication adherence. We found no published studies on the integration of depression management in physical NCD clinics in Malawi and assessing its effects on patient and service outcomes. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of integrating depression screening and management in physical NCD routine care on patient and service outcomes in Malawi. We wil

Community engagement interventions for communicable disease control in low- and lower- middle-income countries: evidence from a review of systematic reviews.

BACKGROUND: Community engagement (CE) interventions include a range of approaches to involve communities in the improvement of their health and wellbeing. Working with communities defined by location or some other shared interest, these interventions may be important in assisting equity and reach of communicable disease control (CDC) in low and lower-middle income countries (LLMIC). We conducted an umbrella review to identify approaches to CE in communicable disease control, effectiveness of these approaches, mechanisms and factors influencing success. METHODS: We included systematic reviews

Epidemiology of communicable diseases in Jazan region: Situational assessment, risk characterization, and evaluation of prevention and control programs outcomes.

The incidence of communicable diseases has witnessed a reduction in Saudi Arabia during the last 4 decades. Nonetheless, the Jazan region has been indicated as one of the main regions affected by various communicable conditions. The geographical, socioeconomic, and climate characteristics of Jazan have made it vulnerable to communicable and vector-borne diseases. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the epidemiology of communicable diseases in Jazan, Saudi Arabia. This review also gives a historical description of infectious diseases in the region and the relevant prevention

[Control of veterinary communicable diseases in swine and fattening cattle stocks by serological testing of slaughtered animal blood samples].

Economy of prophylactic haemoserological control of pig stocks in a district as well as of a sow breeding unit and of cattle stocks on two industrialised fattening farms has been enhanced by including blood samples from routine slaughtering. Preliminary organisational experience is reported in this paper. The samples collected samples collected from normally slaughtered selected sows may contribute to an improvement of veterinary production control.

Effectiveness of peer-led intervention in control of non-communicable diseases in rural areas of Khordha district: study protocol for a cluster randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND: The main contributors to death and disability from chronic illnesses in developing nations are elevated blood pressure (hypertension), blood sugar (diabetes mellitus), and blood cholesterol (dyslipidaemia). Even though there are affordable treatments, the treatment gap for these conditions is still significant. Few pilot studies from industrialized nations discuss the value of peer-led interventions for achieving community-level management of blood pressure and blood sugar. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of peer-led intervention compared to standard care in achieving

Passive immunization for the public health control of communicable diseases: current status in four high-income countries and where to next.

The practice of passive immunization with human immune globulin (IG) for the control of communicable diseases (measles, rubella and hepatitis A) differs somewhat between Australia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand despite the many similarities of these countries, including disease incidence rates and population immunity. No minimum effective dose of IG has been identified for protecting susceptible contacts of measles or hepatitis A. Recommended passive immunization practice for susceptible pregnant contacts of rubella is based on limited evidence in all countr

Effectiveness of an intervention package on the continuum of care among mothers and their knowledge of non-communicable diseases: a cluster randomised controlled trial in Myanmar.

BACKGROUND: Strategies for the continuum of care (CoC) for mothers and newborns have yet to be adequately evaluated in Myanmar. Similarly, the feasibility of integrating non-communicable diseases (NCDs) education into routine maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) services remains unexamined. This study assessed the effect of an intervention package on achieving the CoC for mothers and their knowledge of NCDs in Myanmar. METHODS: In three townships (Pantanaw, Wakema and Ingapu) of Myanmar, we randomly allocated clusters (primary health centres) to the intervention group (n=16) and the contr
