A new species of Colobothea (Lamiinae: Colobotheini), C. darienita sp. nov. is described from Panama. Four new geographical records for Panama are provided: Anopliomorpha hirsuta (Linsley, 1935); Eclipta ficta Bezark, Martins & Santos-Silva, 2013; Phrynocris notabilis Bates, 1867. A series of new kresoxim-methyl derivatives, (pyridinylphenoxymethylene)phenyl methoxyiminoacetates, were synthesized and their structures were confirmed by NMR and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). Although derived from a fungicide, the bioassays indicated that several new compounds had good herbicidal activities. We investigated a synthetic coumestan named LQB93 and similar compounds abilities to antagonize activities of Bothrops jararacussu and Bothrops jararaca crude venoms in different protocols. The antimyotoxic activity was evaluated in vitro by the rate of release of creatine kinase (CK) from isolated mouse extensor digitorum longus muscle (EDL) induced by B. jararacussu (25 g/ml).
