A 55-year-old African-American man with clinical stage T1c prostate cancer underwent prostatectomy. Non-caseating, epithelioid granulomata adjacent to the anterior fibromuscular stroma were found incidentally. The granulomata included Langhans giant cells with rare conchoidal bodies. The distribution of the granulomata was not that of non-specific granulomatous prostatitis centred around ducts and glands. By immunohistochemistry, the epithelioid cells were positive for angiotensin-converting enzyme. The histological appearance suggested sarcoidosis, which was confirmed by the clinical history.

A 54-year-old woman complaining of muscle weakness and weight loss was admitted to our hospital with suspected polymyositis. Muscle biopsy revealed Langhans-type giant cells and noncaseating granulomas. Therefore, sarcoid myositis was diagnosed. The patient was treated with prednisolone, and the symptoms improved gradually. Generally, sarcoidosis is identified clinically in patients with foggy vision or mediastinal lymphadenopathy, but muscular weakness may be an infrequently observed initial symptom. Sarcoidosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of polymyositis.

We report a case of latent cardiac sarcoidosis in reference to differential diagnosis from giant cell myocarditis. A 68-year-old woman succumbed to subarachnoid hemorrhage and acute myocardial infarction within a period of 3 days. Cutaneous histiocytic sarcoma (HS) is a rare malignant tumor. An 82-year-old woman presented with a 4 × 2-cm irregular-shaped red nodule on the left posterior scalp. Cystic neutrophilic granulomatous mastitis (CNGM) is a rare subtype of granulomatous mastitis with a highly distinct histological pattern often associated with Corynebacterium species. The pathology of cutaneous ulcers resulting from Mycobacterium ulcerans infection is reviewed. Initial infection causes ulceration with necrosis of the dermis and a septate panniculitis in subcutaneous fat. There is little cellular reaction despite the presence of large numbers of organisms. Immunohistochemical localization of S-100b protein and S-100ao protein in human lymphoreticular system was studied by using monospecific antibody directed against either the alpha subunit or beta subunit of S-100 protein. We report middle age man with skin hyperpigmentation oral and lip mucous membranes, general malaise and depression. Further examinations lead to adrenal insufficiency, Addison's disease. We report a 44 years old male, presenting with an eight months history of right lower quadrant pain, diarrhea and weight loss. Colonoscopy showed a proliferative and ulcerated lesion in the cecum, with necrotic areas. Barium enema showed an extensive irregular stenosis with rigidity of cecum and ascending colon. The endoscopic biopsy showed numerous granulomas with giant multinucleated cells of Langhans type. A right colectomy was performed with a good postoperative evolution. Cutaneous tuberculosis in renal allograft recipients is rare. A 33 year old recipient of a second renal allograft developed a painless ulcer on the left foot two months after surgery, followed by the appearance of a cold abscess in the left inguinal region. Smear from the pus aspirated from this abscess revealed acid fast bacilli, and biopsy from the edge of the ulcer showed an epithelioid cell granuloma with Langhans type of giant cells. X-ray of the chest revealed miliary mottling in both lung fields. Antitubercular therapy lead to a complete resolution of the tuberculous lesions.

Histopathological findings and anatomical distribution of histiocytic sarcomas found in an uncommonly high frequency (50 of 399 rats) in the BD II/Han inbred strain are reported. The incidence of the tumours in male rats was significantly higher than in females. This was in part attributed to a shorter life expectancy of female rats.
