Statistical agreement of gonioscopy performed as a puppy and as an adult in the Samoyed dog.

OBJECTIVE: To assess whether gonioscopy performed on Samoyed puppies (6-14 weeks of age) is a reliable predictor of their gonioscopy results as adults (>11 months of age). PROCEDURE: A retrospective medical record search was performed to identify Samoyed dogs that had undergone gonioscopy as a puppy (6-14 weeks of age). A second prospective gonioscopy examination was performed as an adult (>11 months of age) and the results were compared. Gonioscopy was assessed on two characteristics: percent of iridocorneal angle (ICA) unaffected by pectinate ligament abnormalities (PLA) and ICA width, with

Rhythmic suture movement on gonioscopy after penetrating canaloplasty: a case report.

BACKGROUND: Previous studies with advanced imaging like phase-sensitive optical coherence tomography suggest the trabecular meshwork-Schlemm's canal complex may show subtle motion related to intraocular pressure fluctuations or cardiac rhythm. However, direct visualization of rhythmic motion in the Schlemm's canal region during routine gonioscopy has been undocumented. Here, we report an incidental finding during dynamic gonioscopy, where a retained 10 - 0 suture within Schlemm's canal exhibited subtle, regular back-and-forth movement at the 2-year follow-up after penetrating canaloplasty. Complications after Gonioscopy-Assisted Transluminal Trabeculotomy in glaucoma treatment - literature review.

Glaucoma is a disease that leads to optic nerve damage and irreversible loss of the visual field. Gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) is a minimally invasive glaucoma surgery technique, where the surgeon opens the trabecular network and Schlemm's canal to improve the outflow of the aqueous humor. This method has shown efficacy in reducing intraocular pressure in patients with primary and secondary glaucoma. GATT has gained popularity due to its minimally invasive nature, compatibility with cataract surgery and relatively low cost. Despite its advantages, the procedure can be

Efficacy of gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy in advanced-age glaucoma patients.

BACKGROUND: The prevalence and severity of many etiologies of glaucoma increase with age, often requiring surgery later in life. Surgery in the most aged demographic, however, poses multiple unique physiologic and psychosocial challenges with variable outcomes. In this study, we evaluate the efficacy and safety of gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) in an advanced-age population (>85 years of age). METHODS: This is a single-centre retrospective cohort study of consecutive patients who underwent GATT at or above 85 years of age. This included patients with GATT of any circumf
