Assessing for socioeconomic background diversity in behavioral health workforce development programs.

Assessing workforce diversity is an increasing area of evolution. A comprehensive assessment of socioeconomic diversity is important in that it can help identify needs and enable planned inclusion across a range of students. Subsequently, a more comprehensive set of background indicators is needed. The purpose of this brief report is to describe the approach we are using to determine socioeconomic background among individuals participating in a behavioral health workforce program. By using 3 strategies to assess background, we were able to determine that 4 individuals reported being unable to

Beyond Radiation Exposure: Occupational Health Challenges Across the Modern Radiology Workforce.

Radiology occupational safety has historically centred on radiation protection. Although radiation safety remains essential, the digital transformation of imaging has expanded the occupational-health profile of the radiology workforce. Diagnostic radiologists now spend prolonged periods at PACS workstations; radiographers and reporting staff work in display-dependent environments; sonographers are exposed to sustained scanning postures and forceful transducer use; and interventional radiology teams face procedural ergonomic stressors related to standing posture, monitor position, table height,

Building a One Health mobile laboratory workforce: strengthening public health preparedness across Europe and Africa.

The emergence and re-emergence of infectious diseases remain a major public health threat in Europe. The Horizon Europe-funded MOBILISE project addresses this challenge by establishing a One Health Mobile Laboratory capable of handling risk group 3 and 4 pathogens, while strengthening outbreak preparedness through targeted capacity-building activities and the development of a rapid-response expert network. A key component of the project is a training-of-trainers (ToT) model, which enables participants to perform critical tasks in the field and transfer expertise within their home countries. Th

Geospatial clustering of suicide, mental health, sociodemographic and workforce features in Australia.

PURPOSE: Identifying geographic clusters with distinct profiles may support evidence-based policy and planning. This study aimed to identify clusters based on suicide rates, proportion of people reporting a mental health condition, sociodemographic characteristics, and mental health workforce features. METHODS: Area-level data were obtained for 294 Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3) regions across Australia using routine administrative and census data. Hierarchical clustering of principal components identified clusters, and spatial join-count analysis assessed their spatial concentration. RESULT

A systematic review of the profile and density of the maternal and child health workforce in China.

BACKGROUND: To track progress in maternal and child health (MCH), understanding the health workforce is important. This study seeks to systematically review evidence on the profile and density of MCH workers in China. METHODS: We searched 6 English and 2 Chinese databases for studies published between 1 October 1949 and 20 July 2020. We included studies that reported on the level of education or the certification status of all the MCH workers in one or more health facilities and studies reporting the density of MCH workers per 100 000 population or per 1000 births. MCH workers were defined as
