Although legacy and emerging organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) are the main contaminants of concern in Chinese marginal seas, their distribution and occurrence in suspended particulate matter (SPM) remain poorly characterized. In this study, we investigate 11 OCPs in the East China Sea (ECS), including seven legacy and four emerging OCPs. The concentrations of Σ11OCPs in SPM ranged from 0.05 to 0.55 ng/L, while those in sediments varied from 276 to 395 ng/g dw. Spectacled caiman (Caiman crocodilus) are fish-eating crocodilians that inhabit freshwater habitat in tropical regions of the Americas. This work presents the content of organochlorine (OCs) pesticides in sediments of both, agricultural drains from the Irrigation District 076, El Carrizo, Sinaloa, and of the adjacent coastal lagoon ecosystem of Agiabampo-Bacorehuis-Jitzamuri, located in northwest Mexico. Ambient air was monitored for pesticides at four sites in Coffs Harbour, a coastal town (population about 50,000) surrounded by banana plantations. The migration of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and cypermethrin residues from internal organs to edible tissues of ice-held Labeo rohita (rohu) was investigated in this study.
