Clinical Application of Intense Pulsed Light Therapy and Radio Frequency for Treatment of Ocular Surface Diseases.

Dry eye disease (DED) is a multifactorial condition in which tear film instability and inflammation play important roles in its etiology. DED can cause symptoms of pain, burning, grittiness, and decreased vision, which, if left untreated, can become increasingly more severe, resulting in damage to the ocular surface. Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy and radio frequency (RF) treatments have emerged as important modalities for managing DED, particularly in patients with underlying meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and rosacea. Both conditions contribute significantly to ocular surface inflamma

Combination Therapy of Pulsed Dye Laser With Intense Pulsed Light in Port-Wine Stain Treatment: A Prospective Side-by-Side Comparison.

BACKGROUND: Pulsed dye laser (PDL) treatment currently represents the mainstream choice for port-wine stain (PWS) treatment in accordance with selective photothermolysis. However, most PWS lesions cannot be removed despite several treatments. Intense pulsed light (IPL) is reportedly an effective alternative to PDL for PWS treatment. No studies have thus far been reported on the combination therapy of PDL with IPL in PWS treatment. OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of PDL with IPL for PWS treatment. METHODS: A total of 33 PWS lesions underwent 3 treatment sessions. Each

Combination of Intense Pulse Light and Topical Eflornithine Therapy versus Intense Pulse Light Therapy alone in the Treatment of Idiopathic Facial Hirsutism: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Clinical observations and medical reports indicate that psoriasis has a tremendous impact on patients' lives, lowering their quality in many important areas. However, the vast majority of research deals only with health-related issues. This study aimed to compare the general quality of life of psoriasis patients and healthy volunteers by examining psychological variables thought to modify the quality of life. 42 patients with psoriasis and 42 healthy volunteers matched for gender, age and education level were tested. Flanagan Quality of Life Scale was used to evaluate general quality of life.

Efficacy of the Combination Therapy of Intense Pulsed Light and Microneedling With a Postbiotic Formulation for Melasma.

BACKGROUND: Melasma pathogenesis involves multifactorial mechanisms, and a comprehensive strategy achieves superior outcomes compared to monotherapy. Intense pulsed light (IPL) reduces pigmentation via selective photothermal effects, while microneedling enhances melanin clearance through mechanical stimulation and improves transdermal drug delivery. However, the therapeutic synergy of combining IPL with microneedling for melasma management requires further validation. OBJECTIVE: To assess the clinical effectiveness of combining IPL and microneedling with a postbiotic formulation containing La
