Serial electrocardiograms (ECGs) were studied prospectively in 80 apparently healthy newborn infants; 30 infants exposed in utero to prolonged tocolytic therapy (21 to ritodrine and 9 to isoxsuprine) and 50 infants non-exposed in utero to drugs (control group) matched for gestational age, Apgar score, and birth weight. Duration of exposure to tocolysis was at least 30 days (30-180 days) with an oral dosage of 10 mg 3 times daily. OBJECTIVE: This meta-analysis was performed to systematically evaluate the efficacy of hyaluronidase combined with corticosteroids compared with other drugs in improving maximum mouth opening and alleviating the burning sensation in patients with oral submucous fibrosis (OSF).
METHODS: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and the Cochrane Library were searched. RevMan 5.3 software was used for the meta-analysis.

After we had made rats' uteri hypoplastic by surgical interference with their blood supply we carried out a second part of our study by treating the animals that had been operated on with a beta-mimetic substance in order to lessen or counter completely the effects of surgical devascularisation. From our results we can conclude in a statistically significant proportion of cases that the effects of devascularisation are cancelled out by the treatment. These facts are explained by taking into account the specific pharmacological effects on the uterus of beta-mimetic substances.

We report four observations of women who had acute or subacute psychotic crisis and who were stabilized without any manifestation. In order to delay delivery these women received during pre-partum high doses of beta-mimetic drugs (isoxsuprine and salbutamol). As shown in our previous report surfactant lipoprotein concentration (SLPC) in amniotic fluid measured by sucrose density gradient centrifugation predicts accurately the risk of RDS. BACKGROUND: Dysmenorrhoea is a common gynaecological complaint that can affect as many as 50% of premenopausal women, 10% of whom suffer severely enough to be rendered incapacitated for one to three days during each menstrual cycle. Primary dysmenorrhoea is where women suffer from menstrual pain but lack any pathology in their pelvic anatomy. Beta2-adrenoceptor agonists have been used in the treatment of women with primary dysmenorrhoea but their effects are unclear.

BACKGROUND: Preterm birth occurs in up to 6% to 10% of all births and is the major complication of pregnancy associated with perinatal mortality and morbidity. Previous preterm delivery is a strong predictor for preterm labour, and the earlier the birth, the more likely it is to be repeated at the same gestation.
