In this study, we investigated the involvement of keratin 8 during human influenza A/NWS/33 virus (H1N1) infection in semi-permissive rhesus monkey-kidney (LLC-MK2) and permissive human type II alveolar epithelial (A549) cells. During amphibian metamorphosis dramatic changes occur in the morphogenesis and differentiation of the epidermis. Oncocytic lipoadenomas of salivary gland are extremely rare tumors with only two previously reported cases. In this paper, we describe an additional example of oncocytic lipoadenoma showing sebaceous differentiation, a hitherto unreported occurrence. The tumor was encapsulated and measured 3 x 2.5 x 2 cm. BACKGROUND: Epidermolytic palmoplantar keratoderma (EPPK) is characterized by diffuse hyperkeratosis affecting palms and soles with suprabasal epidermolysis or vacuolar degeneration histopathologically. The disorder is caused by heterozygous mutations in KRT9 or KRT1. Dominant-negative mutations in KRT1 could also result in epidermolytic ichthyosis with EPPK, a more severe entity affecting the entire body.

AIMS: To investigate the association between the keratinized mucosa (KM) width and peri-implant diagnostic parameters in implant maintenance.

We investigated immunohistochemically 20 basal cell carcinomas (BCC), five pilomatricomas, and nine seborrheic keratoses using anti-BCC keratin monoclonal antibody (BKN-1) and anti-hair keratin monoclonal antibodies (HKN-2, HKN-4- -7).
