Cerebellopontine (CP) angle meningiomas are surgically challenging because of their deep-seated location and proximity to the cranial nerves and vessels. Surgical approaches suitable for treating these tumors are described in detail in this article. CP angle meningiomas can be classified into six subtypes based on the tumor attachment location: 1)petrotentrial, 2)anterior petrous, 3)posterior petrous, 4)petroclival, 5)inferior petroclival or jugular tubercle, and 6)pure clival meningioma. The suitable approach for each subtype is described.

Meningiomas are the most common primary intracranial brain tumor, and have a heterogeneous biology and an unmet need for targeted treatment options. Existing treatments for meningiomas are limited to surgery, radiotherapy, or a combination of these depending on clinical and histopathological features. A case of a recurrent sphenocavernous meningioma is presented. The patient is a 42-year-old male who presented with an episode of transient right-sided numbness. Meningiomas are the most frequent primary brain tumors, accounting for ∼37% of central nervous systems tumors. Despite being largely benign, clinicians frequently face difficult treatment decisions in cases with complex morphology or localisation, near vital brain structures such as the optic nerve or in the case of incidental tumors. Here, we review current concepts of diagnosis, treatment and follow-up with clinical decision-making informed by multimodal imaging, histology, and molecular biology.

We report upon a 50-year-old male patient who presented with a history of an expanding scalp mass over a few months, associated with headache. The mass was initially misdiagnosed as congenital encephalocele. It was observed for 2 months, but the headache increased in severity, and the mass increased in size. Meningiomas represent about one sixth of all primary neoplasms of the central nervous system. They rarely metastasize outside the intracranial compartment. Two cases of intracranial cystic meningiomas are reported. Neuroradiological and intraoperative diagnoses in both cases were cystic astrocytoma. However routine biopsy during the intra-operative period and an accurate interpretation during frozen-section will establish the diagnosis of cystic meningioma. Complete excision of cyst wall of the meningioma during the surgery will minimise the incidence of recurrence of these benign tumours.

Twelve cases of olfactory groove meningioma had been reported. The first symptom of the disease was dysfunction of the olfactory nerve. Rhinologists are responsible for the early diagnosis of the disease. The very important diagnostic points of the disease are dysfunction of the olfactory nerve; visual impairment; headache; Foster-Kennedy's syndrome and the CT scan. The clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of the 12 cases were discussed. Early diagnosis of the diseases is very important for the performance of the operation via the rhino-anterior fossa approach.
