Modeling the organizational heterogeneity of cholesterol-enriched microdomains in the neuronal membranes of gray and white matter of Alzheimer's brain: a computational lipidomics study.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a leading cause of death among the elderly, with no existing treatment. The development of therapies is further hindered by a limited understanding of the molecular pathogenesis and the absence of reliable early-detection biomarkers. Neuroimaging and lipidomic studies reveal structural and biochemical alterations in both gray and white matter in AD patients, including disruptions in membrane organization and neuronal signaling pathways. In the present work, we employed lipidomics-guided modeling of membranes in gray and white matter regions under healthy and disease

Co-development of psychological resilience and commitment to change during organizational transformation: a three-wave parallel-process latent growth modeling study.

The co-evolution of psychological resilience and commitment to change across the phases of an organizational transformation remains poorly understood, primarily because the available evidence draws almost exclusively on cross-sectional designs. To address this gap, the present study conducted a three-wave longitudinal survey of 1,263 employees in four Chinese manufacturing firms undergoing large-scale restructuring, collecting data at six-month intervals that spanned pre-implementation, active implementation, and early stabilization. Unconditional latent growth models revealed that resilience

Toxic Leadership and Employee Outcomes Among Mental Health Nurses: Examining the Associations with Psychological Distress, Somatic Symptoms, and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Through Structural Equation Modeling.

Background: Mental health nurses work in high-pressure environments where leadership styles strongly influence well-being and job performance. Toxic leadership, including abusive and authoritarian behaviors, can contribute to psychological distress, somatic symptoms, reduced job satisfaction, and lower organizational effectiveness. It may also decrease Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), which reflects voluntary positive workplace behaviors. Intrinsic motivation may help buffer these negative effects by enhancing employees' internal drive and resilience. Therefore, this study examines t

Revolutionary and evolutionary change in emergency management.

The following paper acknowledges that disasters are on the rise and asserts that more must be done to counter their causes and minimise their adverse consequences. It reviews proposed shifts in thinking and suggests that recommendations to meet future challenges must be based on sound assumptions. The central finding of this study is that significant change in emergency management is needed, but may not be easily achieved because of numerous barriers that are inherent to the disaster problem. As such, preparedness measures and response operations will always be needed in spite of, and in addit

Biomechanical, psychosocial, and organizational risk factors for WRMSD: population-based estimates from the Connecticut upper-extremity surveillance project (CUSP).

In a case-control study of a population-based telephone survey of 3,798 working adults, symptoms of work-related musculoskeletal disorder (WRMSD) were associated with biomechanical, psychosocial, and organizational factors. In several models, biomechanical exposures with strong associations were static postures (odds ratios [ORs] = 2.00-5.45); repeated pushing, pulling, lifting (ORs = 1.86-12.75); and repeated neck bending (ORs = 1.07-12.8). Psychosocial and organizational factors consistently retained in these models were demands (ORs = 1.26-1.59) and organizational support (ORs = 0.53-0.79).

Zero-Cost-Based Management Theory: A Conceptual Framework for Organizational Transformation.

Escalating costs, particularly in healthcare, have intensified the need for approaches that improve performance while preserving financial sustainability. Existing models such as zero-based budgeting (ZBB), zero-based cost management (ZBCM), and value-based management emphasize expenditure control and efficiency but often assume the availability of resources for implementation. This paper introduces Zero-Cost-Based Management Theory (ZCBMT), a conceptual framework explaining how organizations can achieve meaningful organizational change with minimal additional financial investment. The theory

Busting myths and building resilience: Practices and approaches that go beyond mere plan development.

Dwight D. Eisenhower is often quoted as saying: 'In battle, plans are useless but planning is indispensable'. How many in the business continuity profession actually think about that statement and what it really means? Audit, compliance and regulatory requirements as well as the expectations of executives and business leaders result in an inordinate amount of time and effort devoted to plan development with scant attention paid to actual planning. Practitioners need to realise that the value of the plans they develop is not derived from the finished documents but from the work devoted to compl

Making advanced analytics work for you.

Senior leaders who write off the move toward big data as a lot of big talk are making, well, a big mistake. So argue McKinsey's Barton and Court, who worked with dozens of companies to figure out how to translate advanced analytics into nuts-and-bolts practices that affect daily operations on the front lines. The authors offer a useful guide for leaders and managers who want to take a deliberative approach to big data-but who also want to get started now. First, companies must identify the right data for their business, seek to acquire the information creatively from diverse sources, and secur
