Potential Benefits of Music Therapy on Stroke Rehabilitation.

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

Stroke is associated with a high rate of disability and mortality, and survivors are usually accompanied with dysphagia, aphasia, motor dysfunction, cognitive impairment, depression, and other complications. In the past decades, many studies have been conducted to reveal the pathogenesis and pathological mechanisms of stroke. Furthermore, treatment methods have been developed that contribute to the elevated survival rate of stroke patients. Early rehabilitation poststroke is starting to be recognized as important and has been receiving increasing attention in order to further improve the quali

The efficacy of notched music therapy vs conventional music therapy for chronic subjective tinnitus patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

PURPOSE: The etiology and mechanism of chronic subjective tinnitus (CST) are still unclear, thus there is no specific treatment yet. The notched music therapy (NMT) has been found to relieve patients' tinnitus symptoms, but its efficacy is still controversial. This study aims to resolve the controversy through meta pooling method. METHODS: By searching Embase, Pubmed, Elsevier, WOS, CNKI, and CBM (China Biology Medicine disc) databases, relevant literature on "notch music therapy" and "tinnitus" was obtained, and suitable clinical controlled trials were screened. Cochrane ROB v2.0 was used to

Music Therapy and Art Therapy in the Treatment of Patients With Mental Disorders.

The growing interest in non-pharmacological adjuncts to psychiatric treatment has brought creative therapies, such as art therapy and music therapy, to the forefront of mental health research. We hypothesized that structured sessions of art therapy, music therapy and their combination, integrated into standard inpatient psychiatric care, would lead to a more significant reduction in symptoms of depression and anxiety, and improvement in patients' psycho-emotional state. This study, conducted in Beijing, China, spanning the years 2021-2023, involved the collaboration of two clinics and the part

Music Therapy for Well-being in the Growing Years.

For a child, "well-being" is not just about feeling happy, but about feeling safe, loved, and secure, and having supportive relationships that help them understand and regulate their emotions. Child well-being includes positive relations with caregivers and peers, a growing sense of self-worth, physical and emotional energy for play, learning, and exploration. It reflects an overall balance in the child's life, where distress is expected, but the child feels supported and capable of coping. A strong sense of well-being helps children develop confidence, resilience, and optimism, enabling healt

A neuroscientific perspective on pain-reducing effects of music: Implications for music therapy and mental well-being.

The pain-reducing effects of music are among the best-established phenomena in music medicine and are frequently harnessed in music therapy. Converging evidence from meta-analyses and experimental studies demonstrates that music modulates pain perception and processing in both acute and chronic conditions. We examine the underlying neural mechanisms, highlighting the overlap between pain-processing and reward networks, and the roles of dopamine and endogenous opioids. Furthermore, we discuss how sensorimotor synchronization-such as tapping, breathing, or moving in synchrony with music-not only

Music therapy and music-based support for autistic children: a neurodiversity-informed systematic review and meta-analysis.

BACKGROUND: Music-based interventions, including music therapy, are widely used to support autistic children, but reductions on autism-related scales do not fully represent communication, participation, quality of life, or autonomy. We retained clinically interpretable outcomes while using a neurodiversity-informed framework to organize intervention goals and interpretation. METHODS: Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, Wiley Online Library, EBSCOhost, and Google Scholar were searched from inception to August 5, 2026. [Initial experiences with regulative music therapy in psychiatric patients].

This is an initial report on experiences gained with the inclusion of regulative music therapy for patients with depressive reactions stemming from a variety of causes. The experience gained so far suggest that regulative music therapy can be beneficial during the readaptation phase in the course of rehabilitation of such patients. Orientation on conscious perception seems to be a characteristic of RMT among depressive patients during the first phase of training. This conscious perception leads the patient to a more rational form of confrontation with himself and his surroundings. This opens t

Family-centered music therapy-Empowering premature infants and their primary caregivers through music: Results of a pilot study.

BACKGROUND: In Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) premature infants are exposed to various acoustic, environmental and emotional stressors which have a negative impact on their development and the mental health of their parents. Family-centred music therapy bears the potential to positively influence these stressors. The few existing studies indicate that interactive live-improvised music therapy interventions both reduce parental stress factors and support preterm infants' development. METHODS: The present randomized controlled longitudinal study (RCT) with very low and extremely low birt

A domain-general perspective on the role of the basal ganglia in language and music: Benefits of music therapy for the treatment of aphasia.

In addition to cortical lesions, mounting evidence on the links between language and the subcortical regions suggests that subcortical lesions may also lead to the emergence of aphasic symptoms. In this paper, by emphasizing the domain-general function of the basal ganglia in both language and music, we highlight that rhythm processing, the function of temporal prediction, motor programming and execution, is an important shared mechanism underlying the treatment of non-fluent aphasia with music therapy. In support of this, we conduct a literature review on the music therapy treating aphasia. T
