Primary primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) of the urinary tract is a rare disease with aggressive behavior and poor prognosis. We analyzed 851 cases of urinary tract malignancies in our hospital between 1984 and 2004. Only three (0.035%) cases with PNET of the urinary tract were identified. Peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PPNET) is rare, occurring most often in young adults. Approximately 50 cases have been reported, with only four cases involving the female genital tract. Seventy-one tumors of the central nervous system in children were studied immunohistologically. Extraskeletal primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) is rare and that affecting the female genital tract is extremely rare. We report the case of a 17-year-old girl who presented with swelling of the clitorus. She underwent excision and histopathology was PNET. INTRODUCTION: Peripheral primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the cervix uteri is extremely rare. Between 1987 and 2010, there were only nine cases reported in the English literature, with considerably different management policies.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 45-year-old Iranian woman presented to our facility with a primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the cervix uteri. Her clinical stage IB2 tumor was treated successfully with chemotherapy. Our patient underwent radical hysterectomy. There was no trace of the tumor after four years of follow-up.

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Intraspinal primitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNETs) are an exceedingly rare entity. A recent literature research revealed 28 cases reported. Only a few tumors in the literature were extradural in location, in the cervical and thoracic spine.
