We previously produced pigs with a latent oncogenic TP53 mutation. Humans with TP53 germline mutations are predisposed to a wide spectrum of early-onset cancers, predominantly breast, brain, adrenal gland cancer, soft tissue sarcomas and osteosarcomas. AIM OF STUDY: The present study was planned to analyze the status of serum homocysteine (hcy), folate, and Vitamin B 12 in patients with osteosarcoma.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present study was conducted on 60 orthopedics patients who were divided into two groups, group I with 30 patients of osteosarcoma and group II with 30 patients with musculoskeletal pain.
RESULTS: The present study indicated that serum folate and hcy levels were increased in osteosarcoma patients and decreased Vitamin B 12 in osteosarcoma patients when compared to controls.

Primary osteosarcoma of the ureter is an extremely rare disease. Herein, the authors report a case of extraosseous osteosarcoma arising in the ureter of a 64-year-old woman. Ureteroscopy showed a papillary mass that protruded into and almost completely occluded the lumen. The tumor was successfully removed, and pathologic analysis identified mitotically active spindle cells and focal areas that contained osteoid. Presented herein is a case of primary pure osteosarcoma of the breast. A 59-year-old woman noticed a left breast tumor. Mammography showed a cluster of crushed stone-like calcifications, which gave the tumor a raw cotton-like appearance. Malignancy was suspected on fine-needle aspiration cytology of the tumor. Osteosarcomas have been reported as arising in a number of extraosseous primary sites, most commonly in the retroperitoneum and the muscles of the thighs and limb girdles, but also in a variety of other organs. We present a case arising in the penis, which we believe to be only the fifth reported in the literature and the only documented long-term survivor. Careful histopathological analysis and surgical management remain of key importance in the management of all sarcomas arising in soft tissue.

Malignant tumors of the spermatic cord are rare but the vast majority of these tumors are sarcomas. We report on a patient with osteosarcoma arising in the spermatic cord. Left radical orchiectomy with high dissection of the spermatic cord was performed, and the patient remains free of recurrence 2 years postoperatively. We could find no previous discussion or report of this tumor.

A telangiectatic variant of osteosarcoma of the mandible was seen in a 15-year-old Chinese girl. It was first diagnosed as an aneurysmal bone cyst both radiologically and pathologically. There were local recurrences despite repeated surgery, and subsequent response to chemotherapy and radiotherapy was poor. The patient died 16 months later with direct cerebral invasion, but no distant metastases. BACKGROUND/AIM: Scapular osteosarcoma is a rare malignancy, and the understanding of its optimal treatment strategies and long-term outcomes remains limited. The purpose of the current study was to evaluate our institutional experience.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: We reviewed 14 patients (8 females, 5 males; mean age 44±17 years) treated for scapular osteosarcoma from 1985 to 2022. Tumors were confirmed histologically and treated with a multidisciplinary approach, including chemotherapy and surgery with a median follow-up of 10 years.
