Oxygen-15 administered by continuous inhalation and emission computed tomography were used to study regional tissue oxygen utilisation and blood flow in the limbs of 11 patients with venous ulceration and five patients with liposclerosis due to venous insufficiency. The complexation behaviors of Be²⁺ with cyclo-μ-imido triphosphate anions, cP₃O₉-n(NH)n(3-)n= 1, 2),have been investigated by both ⁹Be and ³¹P NMR techniques at -2.3 °C in order to clarify the coordination structures of the complexes. Radioiodine therapy (RAI) is a standard and effective therapeutic approach for differentiated thyroid cancers (DTCs) based on the unique capacity for iodide uptake and accumulation of the thyroid gland through the Na+/I- symporter (NIS). UNLABELLED: We sought to determine if there are regional differences in cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cerebral metabolic ratio for oxygen (CMRO2) in normal subjects during the resting state.
METHODS: Regional CBF, CMRO2 and oxygen extraction fraction (OEF) in 15 normal volunteers (mean age 58.8 +/- 8.2 yr) were measured during rest using PET and a 15O-gas steady-state technique.
RESULTS: CBF and CMRO2 in the visual cortex were significantly higher than those in other cortices. Additionally, OEF in the sensorimotor cortex was significantly lower than that in other cortical regions.

A 79 year old man with a twelve year progressive history of prosopagnosia and recent naming difficulty, in whom other intellectual skills were preserved, is described. Positron emission tomography (PET) revealed an area of right temporal lobe hypometabolism, with an additional area of less severe hypometabolism at the left temporal pole. This may represent an example of progressive focal cortical degeneration similar to that associated with primary progressive dysphasia, but affecting the right temporal lobe.
