We report a case of gallbladder cancer associated with pancreaticobiliary maljunction. The patient was a 60-year-old woman who consulted a local doctor because of discomfort in the right hypochondriac region. Abdominal ultrasonography (US) showed a gallbladder abnormality, and she was referred to Kurume University Hospital, where she was hospitalized for further study and surgery. We report a rare case of carcinoma of the cystic duct (CCD) associated with pancreaticobiliary maljunction (PBM). A 63-year-old man had presented with relapsing cholecystitis of 4 months, duration. Pancreaticobiliary maljunction (PBM) is a congenital anomaly with a high incidence of biliary tract carcinoma. Pathological findings strongly suggest that there is a hyperplasia-dysplasia-carcinoma sequence in carcinogenesis of PBM.
