[Identifying cognitive and emotional markers in relation to auditory-verbal hallucinations in pediatric population: Physalis study].

OBJECTIVES: Auditory-verbal hallucinatory experiences (AVH) represent a prevalence of 12% in the general pediatric population. They are most often considered as a transient and benign developmental phenomenon, associated with mood and anxiety disorders. The persistence of AVHs for several years and into adolescence would represent a poor prognosis of progression into a psychiatric disorder, and more particularly psychotic disorder. The alteration of social and emotional cognitive markers are described as prodromal of this unfavorable progression which should be considered within the continuum

Peruvioses A to F, sucrose esters from the exudate of Physalis peruviana fruit as α-amylase inhibitors.

The fruit of Physalis peruviana is widely used in traditional Colombian medicine as an antidiabetic treatment. The aim of the study reported here was to identify the compounds responsible for the hypoglycemic activity using the α-amylase inhibition test. Bioguided fractionation of a dichloromethane extract of the sticky exudate that covers the fruit allowed the isolation and identification of three new sucrose esters, named as peruvioses C-E (1-3), along with the known peruvioses A (6), B (5) and F (4), the structures of which were elucidated by extensive NMR and MS experiments. These compound

Physalis polysaccharide-sericin nanocarriers for controlled alpha-lipoic acid delivery and improved human sperm cryopreservation.

The development of delivery systems that deliver ALA as a cryoprotectant to sperm in a controlled manner could provide a promising strategy to minimize the toxicity associated with direct use of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) during cryopreservation. Therefore, the aim of this study was to design and evaluate a nanocarrier based on sericin (SER) and a polysaccharide extracted from Physalis alkekengi for ALA encapsulation in a way that minimizes the toxicity resulting from direct use of ALA by controlling the release. To find the optimal ratio of SER and polysaccharide (pro/poly), a polysaccharide-SER

Endoskeleton-Enhanced Virus-Like Particles (VLPs): Internal Cross-Linking of Physalis Mottle Virus and Stability Tests.

Virus-like particles (VLPs) often exhibit favorable chemical, thermal, and mechanical stability compared to other biologic materials. Nonetheless, enhancing their stability remains crucial for advancing VLP-based materials toward practical and commercial use. To address this, we introduced an "endoskeleton-armoring" approach aimed at reinforcing VLP stability. Using the VLP from physalis mottle virus (PhMV) as a model system, we created an internal polymer backbone by covalently linking the coat proteins within the capsid using a maleimide-PEG15-maleimide crosslinker. This contrasts with nativ
